Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor, is currently enjoying the success of his debut web show, Farzi, and gaining a lot of appreciation for the same. Over the years, Shahid has managed to carve a niche for himself in the Indian film industry and become one of the most successful actors of his generation. In a recent interview, the actor shared how his married life and fatherly responsibilities have helped him evolve as a person and shaped him over the years.
In a recent interview with the Indian Express, Shahid Kapoor opened up about how his life choices changed over the years. Talking about the same, he shared that his relationships and roles in life don’t affect his work directly, but they somehow evolve him as a person, impacting the choices that he makes. Reflecting on the same, Shahid said:

“Everything that is substantial or a priority, in which you invest your time, shapes who you are. As an artist you express yourself, so the choices you make are on the basis of who you are. So the choices that I make today may seem different from what I did five years back, or I will make them five years from now. They are always a reflection of what a person is in their head space. So in many ways, it kind of influences everything I do.”

Shahid Kapoor is happily married to Mira Rajput, and the couple is blessed with two children, a daughter, Misha Kapoor, and a son, Zain Kapoor. Recently, the family of four moved to a bigger house in the town side of Mumbai, and in the same interview, Shahid revealed how their plan to shift into their new house got delayed due to the COVID-19 scare and added:
“We really liked the place. It just felt right, and of course, it’s good for the kids. We have been living in a small house for a long time and needed a slightly bigger place. Also, the house has been in the making for three-four years, as it got delayed because of Covid. Finally, we got it done, and we are happy to be where we are now.”
When the actor was asked if he has consciously taken the decision to keep his kids, Misha and Zain, away from the limelight, he revealed that he wants to give a normal lifestyle to them. Mentioning how he can not change certain things in their kids' lives, Shahid shared that he feels that a lot of problems are happening because of him. Talking about how he too craves normalcy, the actor shared:
“Honestly, as a parent, it’s my duty to give my children as normal a lifestyle as possible. I cannot change certain things, of course, but I will do whatever little things that take them closer to that. It is only fair. After you become an actor, you do realise later that mere wajah se itne problems horahe hai. I will give them as much normalcy as possible. I personally too crave normalcy. I think there’s great value in simple things in life, it just makes you feel.. just so normal.”

Shahid Kapoor is a brilliant actor, whose popularity knows no bounds. In the same interview, the proud father shared that now that his kids are growing up, they are getting to understand that he’s an actor and works in films. He concluded:
“Bade horahe hai toh abhi pata chal raha hai. That’s just the way it is, and I think it had to happen someday.”
