In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shahid Kapoor opened up about his struggling days and shared that he is a self-made actor. “I’m one of those self-made guys who people think because his papa was an actor, he got it easy. And I get very upset with that. I’m like ‘hey guys, you don’t know my struggle’. Just because my father was Pankaj Kapur doesn’t mean that I had it easy because I didn’t even live with him. I lived with my mom.”

For the uninitiated, Shahid Kapoor and his father, Pankaj Kapur worked together in two movies, Shaandaar and Jersey. Talking about his dad, Shahid shared that his father is a very proud man, who struggled in his early days, and he never offered Shahid any help. Shahid said:
“He (Pankaj) was a very proud man. He would never tell his son ki mein yaha call kar deta hoon, jaake unse mil le. He was not like that. He was like I struggled my way up and I was too proud to ask him also ever for any support. In fact, I never even brought it up with him nor did he ever ask me. It just never came up. So of course, it has been 20 years of a lot of work.”
Shahid Kapoor is happily married to Mira Rajput, and the duo never fails to set couple goals. The actor, when asked about the changes he went through after marrige, revealed that he always says 'Yes' to his wife for everything. Shahid responded:
“Marriage makes a man realise how many mistakes he has made and how many things he needs to change about himself. Always say yes to your wife. Pehle mein kabhi kabhi naa bhi bol deta tha. After 8 years of struggle, I’ve realised that don’t try and fight the battle you can’t win. A wife is always right.”
