The actor stepped into Bollywood with the movie, Ishq Vishk, which brought him immense fame and recognition. The actor was also seen in movies like Vivah, Jab We Met, Kaminey, Udta Punjab, Bloody Daddy, and Kabir Singh, among so many others. In his professional life, Shahid is currently basking in the glory of his latest release, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya along with Kriti Sanon.
In his personal life, Shahid Kapoor is married to Mira Rajput, and they are parents to their adorable kids, Misha and Jain. In a recent conversation, the Jab We Met actor revealed how fatherhood has changed him and helped him quit a bad habit, smoking. In a podcast, No Filter Neha, Shahid Kapoor opened up about his decision to quit smoking. The actor, in the audio chat show, shared that whenever he used to smoke, he used to hide it from his daughter, Misha, which is exactly why he gave up on the same.

Sharing more deets about the same, Shahid added that, one day, when he was smoking and he had to hide it from his daughter, the idea of hiding it forever struck his head, and he decided to quit smoking for once and all. Shahid can be quoted as saying:
"When I used to smoke, I would hide from my daughter and smoke. That is actually the reason I gave it up; one day, while I was hiding and having my smoke, I told myself that I am not going to do this forever. And that is the day I decided to quit smoking.”
Right after Misha's birth, Shahid Kapoor did an interview with the Hindustan Times, where he was asked about how fatherhood changed him. To this, the Udta Punjab actor gave an explained answer. He said that earlier, he used to get bored at home and continued to indulge himself in several kinds of activities like going to the gym and watching movies, among others, but after Misha's birth, he could easily be at his home for hours.

Talking more about how fatherhood has changed him, Shahid revealed that before becoming a father, whenever he used to watch films, he always watched it from a child's point of view, but soon after he stepped onto parenthood, he started seeing the things in the point of view of a father. In the same interview, when asked if he is a protective dad, Shahid mentioned:
"Whenever we meet someone who also has a three or four-month-old baby, I go ahead and say, ‘Misha bhaiya ko hello bolo'. So I’m quite crappy like that. Mera abhi se chalu ho gaya hai.”
In an interview with Pinkvilla’s show, Masterclass, Shahid Kapoor was asked if his kids, Misha and Zain have watched any of his films. To this, the actor stated that his wife, Mira, once asked which movie she should make the kids watch, and he replied with 'not a single one'. The actor further revealed that he and Mira then decided their kids would watch his film, Jab We Met. Recalling his little one, Zain's reaction to the film, Shahid mentioned that after coming back to watch JWM, Zain asked the actor if he looked like that only without the beard.
