With Kabir Singh, the official remake of superhit Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, Shahid Kapoor is all set to hit the silver screen with the most-anticipated movie of 2019. With his role of an angsty heartbroken lover with a drinking problem, Shahid’s character in Kabir Singh reminds us of Tommy Singh from Udta Punjab. Releasing the teaser of his film, Shahid had written on his Twitter handle, "I’m not a rebel without a cause. This is ME! #kabirsingh". Soon his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor too, took to her Instagram handle and shared her excitement on hubby’s next film. She had captioned her post as, ''Boom #whattawowow''.
In the Kabir Singh trailer, the hot-headed Kabir Rajveer Singh a.k.a. Shahid Kapoor, in one of the scenes, can be seen chasing his maid in the streets after she breaks a glass, presumably not on purpose. For the promotions of the film, Shahid and his Kabir Singh co-star, Kiara Advani featured on The Kapil Sharma Show, which is yet to be telecasted. Shahid was asked by the host, Kapil Sharma if he’s ever lost his cool on domestic help in real life.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Shahid Kapoor revealed on The Kapil Sharma Show that his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor had brought an army of house helps to their Mumbai home after their wedding. And unlike the scene in Kabir Singh, Shahid is so afraid to offend his house helps that if he ever breaks a glass, he would apologise to them and offer to clean up.

Shahid Kapoor’s film, Kabir Singh was labelled as a 'chauvinistic' and in an interview with the Mid-Day, he had defended his film and asked the audience to at least watch it first. Sharing that it is wrong to expect an actor to be an idealist always in every film, Shahid had said, “Isn’t it wrong to expect an actor to always be idealistic. I am not expected to be idealistic. I am expected to be real; mirroring life, representing all shades of people in their entirety. Once we become adults, we are on our own, drawing heavily from popular culture. But, we must represent grey shades of human beings in films to represent life.” (Also Read: Khushi Kapoor Borrows Janhvi Kapoor's Dress For Sonam's Birthday Bash, We Wonder Who Wore It Better)
Adding that he would never want to become this person, Shahid Kapoor had stated, “Kabir Singh is a phase in everyone’s life. We all {become} self-destructive when we feel like we’ve fallen apart. {One may feel} empathy for him because, in all his misgivings, he is vulnerable. It’s a cathartic journey of a man, and a cautionary tale. It made me feel that I never want to become this person.”
Mere Sohneya Sohneya Ve, Ve Maahi Mera Kitthe Naiyo Dil Lagna… Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer, Kabir Singh has been making it to the headlines from quite sometime now and amongst many other reasons, the intense lip-lock between Kabir Rajveer Singh and his ladylove, Preeti tops the list. Speaking about the romantic scenes with Shahid, in an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, Kiara had said, "Kabir Singh is an innocent raw love story, so you are seeing two people who are as real as it gets. As far as the liplock is concerned, it's a very normal way of showing someone how much you love them - with a kiss."
Sharing that the lip-lock scenes were not included in the film ‘for the heck of it’ and that they were important to the storyline, Kiara Advani added, “When you will watch the film you will not even realise that there is a lip-lock in the film. We have not put anything and everything in the film just for the heck of it. There is no dance or item song, there is no revealing, there is none of that. Our director is somebody who is very real and pure to the script.” (Also Read: Erica Fernandes And Parth Samthaan Arrived Together, Twinning In Blue At Ekta Kapoor's Birthday Bash)
