Shahid Kapoor and Mira Kapoor's love story, started in an arranged setup. They met through their family and found a connection. At the age of just twenty, Mira decided to leave her entire world behind in Delhi, took the leap of faith, and married the superstar, Shahid Kapoor in 2015. With him, she moved to the city of dreams, Mumbai. Later, in 2016, the couple welcomed their baby girl, Misha, and their family was completed with the arrival of their son, Zain in 2018.
Raising a child is not easy, and it takes seconds to spoil them. And Mira, being an English Honours graduate, makes sure her kids, Misha and Zain, stay disciplined. Talking about how they are raising their kids in an interview with Film Companion, Mira revealed that it is easy to spoil the children and it takes a village to raise the kids. Tagging herself as the 'bad cop'. She said:
"It is very easy to spoil kids. I think its takes a village to raise a child. There are grandparents, uncles, aunts, they are all there. The balancing act continues. It will always be there. I think I am the bad cop in general. Whether it is not giving them what they want or telling them their bed time, or making them do their home work or teaching them their tables."

Further, Mira stated that Shahid is the one who spoils the children. He often gifts them cool shoes and she has to stop him from doing so. Recalling an instance, Mira revealed:
"I think their dad gets to spoil them a little bit and get them cool shoes and I am going to be like you can’t get them these shoes. On the other hand, he is like I don’t want my kids to be like that and then I am like see you can’t do that when you are giving them these shoes.
For those who don't know, Shahid Kapoor is 14 years older than his wife, Mira. The actor often credits his wife, Mira Kapoor for the change she has brought in him. Talking about the same, Mira revealed that Shahid always wanted to have his own family. She stated that over the years, he had evolved spiritually. She said:
"Another part of him that I have seen really evolve is his spiritual side. That is something that I have seen he has really honed and worked on and that is his own personal journey but I think its found its way into his self expression and his being and the way he conducts himself so differently. A side of him has come out that is very warm, affectionate and emphathetic. He always had that empathy but had none to empathise with."
Earlier, in an interview with Humans Of Bombay, Shahid had revealed that at the age of 33 or 33, he started feeling lonely. He had big awards on his shelf but none to share his victories with. He knew he was happy, independent, and doing well in his career, but there was a void. He wanted his own family to share his life and a companion. Shahid stated that it was the time when he was open to settling down with someone.
