Sharad Kelkar has been one of the most promising actors who scaled up from the television platform towards the silver screen with his sheer hard work and dedication. The actor has made some commendable performances in films like, Hero, Mohenjo Daro, Goliyon Ki Raasleela-Ram Leela among others. In his personal life, the actor got married to his television co-star, Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar in 2005. The duo is blessed with a daughter.
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Sharad opened up on having to deal with anger management issues of his life in the last twelve years. Recalling one specific incident, the 46-year-old actor mentioned how his action of breaking a glass in anger had scared his wife utterly for her own safety. Mentioning how post that, he turned calmer and turned a new leaf in his life, he mentioned:
“The biggest example is the 150 stitches in my hand and I had to undergo surgery. This was one major incident, I banged the glass and it broke completely on my hand. Keerti witnessed this, she was extremely scared. I was in the hospital and I saw how she was crying outside. It made a huge impact on my life and I decided to turn calm. She did have fear, but I also saw that hope in her eyes. She did tell me that she was scared for herself too witnessing my reaction. Post that life turned completely calm."

Much like many other actors who do not come from privileged backgrounds so as to arrange for a grand debut, Sharad too had to deal with his share of struggles and problems before he made his debut. Recalling how he had a serious stammering issue which often proved to be a hindrance in many of his scopes of getting a work, he added;
"I didn't know how to act and didn't have money or a home. That time taught me that I will have to work hard and keep hustling till I get work. That was the 2003-04 phase. After that, when I did my first TV show, Sindoor Tere Naam Ka. I had the stammering issue and I was not sure how I would overcome it."
The world is particularly not kind to people who have some or the other physical disability or shortcomings. Things were the same for Sharad at the time when he was about to make his television debut with the show, Sindoor Tere Naam Ka. But after being constantly ridiculed and mocked at, the actor found a friend and his soulmate in Keerti who helped him overcome his impediment. In Maniesh Paul’s podcast, Rise In Bollywood, Sharad had credited his now-wife, Keerti for helping him in his difficult times and mentioned:
“Then I met my wife. I am also lucky to have met a few wonderful people from my first show, who also helped me overcome it."

Sharad Kelkar has set an inspiration for many new generation television actors who dream of making it big one day on the silver screen as well. However, the actor’s journey would have been seemingly incomplete if it was not for his wife, Keerti who stood beside him like a strong pillar of strength. In an interview with PTI, the former actress had once heaped praises on her hubby’s steady steps in the ladder of success and mentioned:
“I am very proud of Sharad. He has grown and become a fine actor. He does have what excites him. He tries to experiment and do different stuff. But now I want the focus on me, and I have told him no more talking about your work, talk about my show and me."
