Sharad Malhotra and Ripci Malhotra (earlier Ripci Bhatia) got married on April 20, 2019, and became each other's forever. After years, Sharad Malhotra finally took the nuptial plunge as against his image of being a 'runaway groom'. We all know that any Indian wedding consists of many rituals and even after the wedding, those are followed and one of the most important rituals is the one in which the bahu enters her in-laws' home for the first time after the marriage, which is called the grih pravesh ceremony. Sharad Malhotra and Ripci Malhotra are in Kolkata currently, for the grih pravesh ceremony of Ripci at her in-laws'. Yesterday, on May 06, 2019, Ripci took to her Instagram to share a couple of pictures from their aeroplane journey. In one of the pictures, Ripci is showing off her chooda-clad hands, and in the other, we can spot her along with her newbie hubby, Sharad. Take a look:
Ripci Malhotra's grih pravesh was made the most special when her mother-in-law welcomed her like her own daughter in her house. Ripci's saasu-maa was standing at the door with an aarti ki thaali and a sindoor ki thali. Ripci has captioned the videos of her grih pravesh ceremony as, "Home is where ma is @sharadmalhotra009 #itwasjusperfect #homesweethome #kolkota #memories #latergrams." Sharad Malhotra has adorably commented on Ripci's post as, "Kyunki saaaas bhiiii kabhiiii bahu thiiiiii...kindaaa moment." Take a look at the video that we have taken from a fan page:
This is so adorable, right? After their wedding, Sharad Malhotra, the newbie husband, had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared a picture from his and Ripci's wedding. Sharad Malhotra was earlier in a relationship with Divyanka Tripathi and it was reported that the two will get married. Post his breakup with her, Sharad started seeing Splitsvilla fame, Pooja Bisht. Because of his past, Sharad was often labelled as a 'runaway groom'. But he is not marriage phobic anymore, and in his first interview post-marriage, he had told SpotboyE, “My marriage phobia is finally over. For me, this was the right time and I found the right person. Kehte hain na, shaadi woh ladoo hai jo khaye woh pachtaye aur jo na khaye woh bhi pachtaye. I will surely enjoy this laddoo.” (Don't Miss: Janhvi Kapoor And Khushi Kapoor's Throwback Picture With Sridevi Will Make You Say 'Gone Too Soon')
Sharad Malhotra had also shared his love story with Ripci Malhotra earlier and had revealed that he had never intended to date her as such. He was quoted as saying, “When I was introduced to Ripci, I had just come out of a relationship and was going through a difficult phase. Initially, we would just exchange occasional pleasantries on social media. It was only after Ganpati last year that we got talking on the phone, which was after my last relationship ended. What connected us probably was our fear of marriage. In fact, Ripci travelled the world for six years to avoid marriage, as the pressure on a girl at her age was mounting. I would have loved to do that, too, but I was constantly working. It’s only recently that our families got involved after we spoke over the phone for a few days. Both of us instantly realised that this is it and decided to take the plunge.”
On being asked as to what was that moment when he knew that Ripci was 'the one' for him, he had replied, “I don’t think there was one [particular] moment when I decided that I wanted to marry her. We were out on a drive and I thought I would take a chance. I asked her (about marrying me) and in case, she refused, I would just laugh it off. But she agreed. Later, we informed our families and they agreed too. So now here we are. Luckily, everything just fell into place.”
Commenting on his image of a ‘runaway groom’ earlier, Sharad Malhotra had said, “I realised that bahut bhaag liya. I can either keep running away from a marriage all my life, or get into it, experience it and see for myself if it’s good, bad or ugly. My mother was extremely happy when I gave my nod. Having said that, she didn’t give her approval immediately. She took her time to be sure that I was ready for it, given my colourful past. She feared that I would back out again. But everything happened organically. I would call it an arranged-cum-love marriage.” (Suggested Read: Chhavi Mittal's Six-Year-Old Daughter, Areeza Hussein Planned A Surprise Baby Shower For Her)
