Shatrugan Sinha-Poonam Sinha Marriage Was Rejected By Her Mother, 'Gali Ka Gunda, Beti Sundar, Gori'

The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show was a family affair. Actually, it was the Sinha family affair, as the entire clan consisting of Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Poonam Sinha, and the newest member, son-in-law, Zaheer Iqbal, made an appearance. As usual, the episode was a complete riot that had the audience in splits of laughter. However, the family also had plenty of revelations for fans during the candid conversation, including one about Poonam's mother disliking Shatrugan.

Shatrugan Sinha and Poonam Sinha open up about the latter's mother being against their marriage 

During The Great Indian Kapil Show episode, Archana Puran Singh was seen asking Poonam Sinha whether she proposed to 'Shatru ji' or the other way around. Well, Shatrugan couldn't help making an instant quip, saying, "Inhone karvaaya propose mujhse." Poonam then added that her mother had rejected the idea of their marriage outright due to Shatrugan's career in films. She recalled:

"His elder brother came to my house to talk to my mother. My mother said, 'Not at all, we don't want any boy from the film fraternity.'"

Shatrugan Sinha then took over the conversation, recalling how Poonam Sinha's mother had described him to his brother. The latter's mom seemingly ripped Shatrugan apart, even comparing his looks and complexion with Poonam. Shatrugan said:

"She said to my brother, 'Tumne dekha hai apne bhai ko? Yeh bihaari, gali ka gunda, aur humaari beti doodh ki dhuli hui, itni sundar, gori, aur Miss India. If you make them stand together and click a coloured photograph, it will show a black and white effect only."

Shatrugan Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are total sasur-damad goals

For the longest time, rumours were rife that not all was well in the Sinha family following Sonakshi Sinha's inter-faith marriage with Zaheer Iqbal earlier in the year. However, the family laid all gossip to rest with their appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, especially because Shatrugan and Zaheer set total sasur-damad goals. At one point in the show, Shatrugan recalled a piece of advice he got from veteran actor, Dharmendra, saying:

"Since you're from the film industry and have a huge fan following, always remember to be a 'one-woman man... at a time.'"

Well, this recollection had his son-in-law, Zaheer, in splits of laughter, and he even quipped, "I thought it was a family episode. What's happening?" Apart from Shatrugan and Zaheer's fun banter, the episode was also filled with the latter's newlywed charm with Sonakshi. And, of course, Shatrugan and Poonam brought their cosy comfort and age-old familiarity with each other.
