Veteran actor, Shatrughan Sinha, who is a member of the Parliament, has expressed his disappointment in a recent media interaction for not receiving gratitude from B-town's superstar, Shah Rukh Khan. Shatrughan was one of the Bollywood celebrities who had stood up for SRK's son, Aryan Khan, during his drug case trial and had spoken about the injustice that was happening with the star kid.
Shatrughan Sinha is known for voicing his own opinions without any fear. During his reign in Bollywood, the actor was popularly called as a shotgun for being straightforward. For the unversed, apart from being an actor and a politician, he is also a perfect family man. In a recent conversation with Nation Next, Shatrughan Sinha opened up about Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan getting a clean chit from his drug case. He shared that he voiced his opinion against the injustice because he could feel Shah Rukh Khan's pain being a parent himself. Talking about the same, he mentioned his disappointment in not receiving a 'thank you' note from SRK. Shatrughan said:
"As a parent, I felt Shah Rukh Khan's pain. Even if he was guilty, instead of rehabilitating him, they locked him up… I should also say that, as expected, I didn't receive a thank you card from Shah Rukh, even though I was maybe the most prominent voice standing up for Aryan in all of Mumbai. But I have a habit of calling a spade a spade, and for standing up for what is right. I stood up against what I believed was an injustice. As far as Shah Rukh is concerned, I didn't receive any thanks or a thank you card from him."
When Shatrughan was further asked about whether he reached out to Shah Rukh Khan regarding the matter, the legendary actor promptly responded and said that there's no need for him to contact SRK. Adding to it, he mentioned that Shah Rukh never asked for his support. It was his decision to come out in support of his son. In his words:
"No, absolutely not. Why would I, I don't need work from him. I don't need to get in touch with him, in fact, he should have gotten in touch with me. But, to be fair to him, he didn't ask me for support either."
