Sonakshi Sinha is looking forward to her upcoming wedding with her longtime boyfriend, Zaheer Iqbal. The duo is all set to marry on June 23, 2024, and recently had their bachelor party. For some time now, rumours are rife that Sonakshi's father, Shatrughan Sinha is miffed with her sudden wedding plans and that he might not attend the celebration. However, the doting father rubbished all reports and confirmed attending the wedding.
In an interview with Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha opened up about the ongoing buzz around him not attending Sonakshi's wedding. The actor-turned-politician rubbished the speculations, mentioning that he is extremely proud of his daughter and that his happiness lies in her happiness. Confirming his presence at the wedding, Shatrughan said:
"Tell me, whose life is it anyway? It's just the life of my only daughter Sonakshi, whom I am very proud of and immensely fond of. She calls me the pillar of her strength. I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn't I and why won't I? Her happiness is my happiness and vice versa."

When asked about Sonakshi's marriage to Zaheer, Shatrughan said that his daughter has every right to choose her partner and that he is okay with it. He mentioned that he has been quite occupied with his political work in Delhi and will soon return to Mumbai. Calling Sonakshi and Zaheer a nice couple, Shatrughan said:
"She has every right to choose her partner and the other details of her wedding. I am extremely tied up with my political work in Delhi. The very fact that I have still been in Mumbai conveys that I am here not only as her pillar of strength but as her real kavach (armour) as well. Sonakshi and Zaheer have to live their life together. They look very nice together."
Shatrughan Sinha also clapped back at the people, who were speculating about his absence from his daughter, Sonakshi's wedding. The veteran actor shared that those who are coming out with fake news are just frustrated with the occasion and he would like to tell them to mind their own business. In his words:
"Those who are coming out with fake news are just sounding very frustrated with this joyous occasion as they are spreading nothing but lies. I would like to caution them with my signature dialogue: Khamosh, it's none of your business. Mind only your business."

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's wedding invite has gone viral on Reddit. It featured an audio QR code with a sweet message from the couple. According to the leaked invite, the party will take place at Bastian in Mumbai, and the guests are requested to wear formal and festive attire. We could also see “the rumours were true” written on the card. The couple also asked the guests not to wear red, hinting that the bride-to-be will steal our hearts in a red lehenga. In the voice note, Zaheer and Sonakshi shared the tidbits of their wedding celebration, with the former confirming that they have been together for the last seven years. They expressed their excitement as they embarked on this new journey in their life and requested the guests to join them at the celebrations.
