Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are all set to etch their relationship to forever. Yes, you read that right! After fuelling relationship murmurs for quite a long time now, the duo would get hitched within days, and the celebrations for the same have already begun. There have been some other reports suggesting discord in the Sinha household. Some others have even highlighted that Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha was upset over his daughter’s wedding. However, every bit of it has been rendered incorrect. And now, the proud father himself confirmed his daughter’s reception date.
In a recent conversation with Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha confirmed his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s reception date. He clarified that he and his wife, Poonam Sinha would be very much a part of their daughter’s special day. Furthermore, Shatrughan confirmed that Sonakshi and Zaheer’s reception and not wedding, would take place on June 23, 2024, of which everyone would be a part of. In his words:
“First of all, a lot has changed since I last spoke to you. In fact there are developments by the hour. I cant tell you about all of the developments, as this is a family matter. I had asked Pahlaj Nihalani to speak to you. But I thought it best to clue you in directly. So quickly, yes my wife and I are very much a part of the celebrations on June 23. It is not the wedding. It is the wedding reception that we are all attending on the evening of June 23.”

Moving further in the conversation, Shatrughan Sinha corrected how several media outlets have been wrongly announcing Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding to take place on June 23, while it is actually the reception that would happen on that day. Moreover, he addressed the wrong image of the family that has been proclaimed ever since, over the matter of conflicts. Shatrughan Sinha emphasised that while it is normal to have conflicts in the household where a wedding is taking place, nonetheless, he assured that everything has been resolved. He mentioned:
“No one from my family said anything about a wedding. Some media outlets have just been presuming things. Too much attention is being given to something that is a private family matter. Shadiyan sab ke ghar hoti hai. Pre-wedding conflicts are also common. We are all okay now. Whatever the stress has been sorted.”
In the concluding segment of the revelation, Shatrughan Sinha was asked if he was the one responsible for resolving all the conflicts which have taken place within the family, ahead of Sonakshi’s wedding. In response, the doting father expressed that his daughter will be having everything she wants in her life. He added:
“Koi wand nahi hai. Yeh sab hota hi hai har shaadi mein. Just because she is Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, it doesn’t mean Sonakshi can't have what she wants in life. Hum log bohot mazza karenge June 23 ko.”

On June 13, 2024, internet was abuzz with glimpses of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding invite, that got leaked in the media. It primarily features a QR code, which contains a recorded audio message of the couple. The layout and design of the invite resembles that of a magazine, and featured a candid picture of Sonakshi and Zaheer as its cover.
