Sonakshi Sinha is one of the most popular actresses of her generation in Bollywood. Following the exemplary tutelage left by her father, Shatrughan Sinha, she has earned a special place in the hearts of many. The diva has recorded quite a few blockbuster films in her kitty, including Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore, Lootera, Kalank, Ittefaq, Double XL and so many others. In her personal life, the diva is allegedly in a relationship with her co-actor, Zahir Iqbal. However, the duo is yet to confirm their relationship murmurs publicly.
Veteran actor, Shatrughan Sinha recently appeared in the popular musical reality show, Indian Idol 14, wherein he was impressed by a contestant’s melodious voice. The performer sang a song from his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha’s debut film, Dabangg. Hearing his voice, the veteran actor not only praised the contestant, but also shared a special anecdote about his daughter, Sonakshi, who delivered a fantastic performance in her debut film. Talking about her, he said:

“Emotionally, it’s very natural that I am attached to this film because not only was my daughter the heroine in both films, but after years, if someone emerged as a star overnight, in the truest sense, its Sonakshi from Dabangg 1. And for this, I am very grateful to Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Salim Khan and the entire family because they came and asked for her to star in the film.”

Elaborating further about his daughter’s debut film, Shatrughan Sinha then revealed how Sonakshi wasn’t initially interested in becoming a part of films. She was pursuing and in fact, completed a fashion designing course. However, the doting daddy revealed that his daughter only agreed to be a part of the film when the Khan family assured that the role was good. In his words:
“Initially, she didn’t want to venture into films, she had completed a fashion designing course. But when the Khans came to our residence and said that they wanted to cast Sonakshi for the role, assuring us it would be a good role, Sonakshi agreed to it too. And she became an overnight star, there’s no doubt about that.”
Well, Sonakshi’s debut performance in Dabangg opposite a superstar like Salman Khan was initially quite experimental. However, the diva’s impeccable performance simply nailed the role like no other. Moreover, it ended up creating a great friendship between her and Salman, something the duo cherish to date. Previously, in an interview with Mashable India, Sonakshi recalled a hilarious incident when Salman Khan learnt about her first-ever salary of Rs. 3000, which she got by volunteering in her college. The actress revealed that Salman not just laughed at the amount she got, but even cutely demanded a gift from her with the money that she earned.

Previously, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sonakshi Sinha had opened up about her marriage plans. The diva candidly revealed her parents’ reaction to such a leap in her life and remarked how if it was left for her father, Shatrughan Sinha to decide, he wouldn’t want her to get married in the first place. Elaborating more, she said:
“If it is up to him (Shatrughan Sinha) then he would never want me to get married. Mom sometimes drops that little bomb ki abhi toh time hogaya, (marriage) kar lena chahiye, and I just give her one look and then she’s like acha thik hai thik hai (laughs). No, there are not like I’m glad that they have given me that kind of independence where until I’m not ready they will not really like sit on my head and like ‘shaadi karlo beta’ because see, I’m happy with my work and I’m doing well.”
