Housefull 2 Actress, Shazahn Padamsee Engaged To Ashish Kanakia, Reveals Marriage Date

Housefull 2-star Shazahn Padamsee, daughter of Sharon Prabhakar and the late Alyque Padamsee has found her life partner. She is engaged to Ashish Kanakia, the CEO of MovieMax Cinemas and Kanakia Group's director. Shazahn, who calls herself an old-school romantic, is best known for her films Rocket Singh with Ranbir Kapoor and Housefull 2, among others.

Shazahn Padamsee opens up on her marriage plans and reveals details from her engagement ceremony

Shazahn, also known for her singing skills, had an intimate engagement ceremony. Shazahn and Ashish decided to reveal to their parents about their relationship in October 2024 and in an interview with ETimes, she spilled details about her dreamy proposal story. She knew that Ashish would propose to her but did not know when. However, on November 13, Ashish took the plunge and proposed the actress in a private setting with beautiful flower decor and a customised photo wall depicting all their pictures and memories together over the past two and a half years. It was a stunning setting that floored Shazahn.

Shazahn Padamsee's childhood friend acted cupid

Going ahead in the interview, Shazahn revealed that her childhood friend got her to meet Ashish, but she didn’t want to rush into it. They met a couple of months later for dinner and started dating shortly after. She found compatibility with Ashish as they laughed a lot together and found Ashish having an entertaining side, which included making playful jibes at the actress. She finds it funny. Shazahn quipped:

"Although we come from different backgrounds, our core values are the same".

Shazahn Padamsee has similar interests to Ashish Kanakia

Shazahn proudly mentioned that they do have their distinctive traits. She said her fiance is disciplined and a neatness freak, while she is working on her time management issues. Shazahn found Ashish having the ability to make decisions, whereas she wanted her own time. In her words:

"That apart, we also have a lot of similar interests like travelling to new places and going to music festivals all over the world.”

Shazahn proudly also revealed that she could be her most authentic self with Ashish and always felt that there was something special between them since their first meeting. She feels that deep down in today's fast-moving world, she has always been an old-school lover. Shazahn and Ashish both were looking for long-term stability and from the first day, she felt most at peace with him. Shazahn further said:

"It is said that when you meet ‘the one’, you will feel peace and not butterflies, and in my case, that’s exactly what happened."

Shazahn Padamsee comes from a different background than Ashish

Shazahn also felt that because she and Ashish came from diverse worlds, things were always interesting among them. The actress hails from a creative field, while Ashish is from a corporate background. Shazahn always wanted to marry someone outside of the film industry, as she felt one actor in the family was enough. They come from diverse backgrounds, due to which they can discuss about many things. They love socialising over the weekends with their friends, as Ashish has a structured corporate background.
