Shehnaaz Gill is one of the most popular actresses in the showbiz world now. After making her name in the Punjabi music industry, she went on to achieve national stardom with her stint in the reality show, Bigg Boss 13. Thereafter, she also carved her niche as a Hindi playback singer, and she recently made her successful Bollywood debut in the Salman Khan starrer film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. In her personal life, she had been reported to be in a serious relationship with her co-participant from Bigg Boss 13, late actor, Siddharth Shukla. Unfortunately, after the tragic death of the latter in 2021, Shehnaaz underwent a major breakdown, post which she emerged stronger.
In a recent interview with Red FM, Shehnaaz Gill opened up on an unheard fact about her love life. She admitted how she was deeply in love at one point in her life, and added that she does not want to discuss it further. Moreover, she also emphasised how in her life now, she has absolutely no trust in anyone, and that she is disinterested in falling in love again. In fact, she also mentioned how instead of love, she has sought refuge in spirituality, as it helps to soothe and heal her. In her words:
“I have been in love only once. Pyaar ki baatein mat karo yaar, pyaar yaar kya hi hai. Nobody is trustworthy. Everybody is selfish. One can be attached to another, but at some point, they will forget the other person. I take support of spirituality when I am hurt. Spirituality helps a lot in these things. I don’t trust anyone in life.”

She mentioned that after settling down in Mumbai, she realised from the people around her that love always asks for equality. She also shared how she believes that love should not be shamed or hidden. Furthermore, she also mentioned how there should not be any shame in touching the other person physically when in love. She mentioned:
“Love is caring for someone, empathising with them. There should be physical touch in love. When you hug someone to console them, there is nothing more beautiful than that. I can’t just keep looking at the person whom I love. I need to talk to that person, I need to communicate. If you are in love with someone just talk to them, don’t be ashamed. There should not be any shame in loving someone but you should know what love is.”
In an earlier interview with Instant Bollywood, Shehnaaz Gill had shared how she has been betrayed in her relationships. She highlighted that while she never betrayed anybody, but people have betrayed her. In fact, she also emphasised how she was the one who got dumped every time in a relationship of hers. She said:
“Dhoka maine aaj tak kissi ko nahi diya, to be frank, but sabne mujhe diya hai. Jo bhi gaya hai, mujhe chhod ke gaya hai. Kyunki jab insaan ka pata chal jaata hai ke do jagah ya teen jagah… Phir insaan peeche hatt hi jaata hai.”
