Former YRKKH actor Shehzada Dhami has fired shots at Shahi through a cryptic Instagram post, and actor Arjit Taneja has chimed in.

Shehzada Dhami calls out Rajan Shahi with a cryptic IG story

Earlier this year, Shehzada Dhami was removed from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He used to play the role of ‘Advocate Armaan Poddar’ in the show. On December 30, 2024, Shehzada took to his Instagram handle to share a cryptic note on the story. His IG story read:

 “Are koi isko doctor ke pass le ke jao yaar.”

While Shehzada did not name anyone in the story, fans quickly linked the comment to Rajan Shahi, as it followed Shahi’s recent statements addressing the removal of actors from his shows. Rajan Shahi had previously defended his decision to replace actors like Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe, claiming their alleged disrespectful behaviour toward crew members like hairdressers, spot boys, and makeup artists.

Arijit Taneja weighs in on the ongoing debate

Arjit Taneja, currently starring in Kaise Muhe Tum Mil Gaye, showed his support for Shehzada by commenting on an Instagram post discussing Shahi’s statements. Taneja’s comment has sparked further debate, raising questions about Shahi’s treatment of actors on his sets. Extending his agreeability, the actor wrote:

"That's one side of the story. And how come all the actors are wrong and he is a saint? Because actors are an easy target and this guy is GOD!!"

Rajan Shahi has been under fire since March 2024, when he terminated the contracts of Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe overnight, replacing them with Rohit Purohit and Garvita Sadhwani. Shahi claimed the actors were unprofessional and disrespectful, leading to their removal.

The speculations were reignited when a few days ago, Alisha Parveen was abruptly replaced for her role in the show, Anupamaa. Alisha later revealed she was not informed about the decision beforehand, raising concerns about how actors are treated in the TV industry. The ongoing controversy has left fans and actors divided, with some Shahi’s stance on discipline and others siding with the actors, arguing that they are often scapegoats for production issues.
