Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty is happily married to London-based businessman, Raj Kundra. Even after 14 years of marital bliss, the lovely couple still radiates pure love. From going on family vacations to celebrating every festival together, Shilpa and Raj often treat their fans with glimpses of their happy life. The duo was blessed with a baby boy, Viaan Raj Kundra, in 2012 and a daughter, Samisha Shetty Kundra, via surrogacy in February 2020.
Shilpa Shetty got the biggest surprise when Raj Kundra proposed to her in the most romantic manner in Paris. When Raj had met Shilpa for the first time, he was completely smitten by her charm and had fallen head-over-heels in love with her. Finally, on November 22, 2009, the duo got married and started their happily ever after. In an old interview with Radio Oye! in 2015, Shilpa Shetty Kundra talked about her younger days with her husband, Raj Kundra, and made some shocking revelations.

When Shilpa Shetty was asked to shed light on her relationship with Raj Kundra and reveal if it was a friendship that developed into love or something else, she responded beautifully. Shilpa said that it was love at first sight for Raj as he was fond of her after he watched her stint in Big Brother. However, she added that their relationship blossomed into lustful love and said:
"We both did not realise it....No! It was definitely love at first sight for Raj. It was actually like at first sight for me. When Raj first met me, I had just come out of Big Brother, and there was this craze (around me) in the UK. He, too, had similar feelings. He was proud as an Indian. He may be living there, but he is an Indian at heart. I think it was a different kind of love, which then blossomed and became obviously, lustful."
When the interviewer teased Shilpa for asking Raj to lose weight when he proposed to her, the actress shared that she sounded too shallow back then. During the interview, Shilpa also revealed the reason behind getting married to Raj and shared that she did it because her parents were against the idea of live-in. However, she further added how their phone bills were really high and said:
"But, I also had to lust him na? Sorry, I am sounding very shallow right now but... I got married to my friend when I married Raj. I only got married because my parents were against the idea of live-in. And, our phone bills were really high. We could have bought a house with that amount, we used to talk so much."

For the unversed, Shilpa Shetty has a 20-carat engagement ring which is one of the highest carat sizes, and it cost the fitness queen’s husband a hefty amount of Rs.3 crores. Interestingly, Raj Kundra had proposed to Shilpa Shetty with a 5-carat ring, but she was not satisfied with it. So, he immediately promised her a bigger wedding ring and gifted her a huge solitaire. During an episode of The Love Laugh Live Show, Shilpa revealed:
“It was a five-carat diamond ring and I might sound really materialistic but I was like, ‘It’s just five carats.’ I took a while to say yes because I was like, ‘This is not what I imagined.’ No, no, I am just joking. Because I took two seconds more, he was like, ‘The wedding ring will be bigger.’ So I said yes there and then.”
