A successful marriage does not mean you will always agree, see eye to eye or never have an argument. It rather means despite all the bad days, you still end up in the same bed, in the same quilt, saying goodbye to the night and welcoming a new day! And Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty Kundra believes in the exactly same institution of marriage. For those who don’t know, Shilpa and Raj had a perfect filmy tadka to their epic love story. The couple first met in the year 2008 for a business meeting. During the initial stages, Raj kept denying the rumours, but when they finally started dating, Shilpa couldn’t hold back her emotions. She had shared the same news with her fans, and had said, “I am dating somebody. I hope he will be the one, but I don’t want to say too much because it is still very early on in our relationship.”
The couple’s relationship has been the epitome of a successful marriage! And while many B-town jodis drift apart, they have stood strong. Recently, Shilpa has revealed the secret mantra behind her successful marriage on Sony TV’s reality show, Super Dancer Chapter 3. When her co-judge and choreographer, Geeta Kapur asked her the same, Shilpa replied, “It's important to have the relationship of friendship in any relationship. I think Raj and I never feel that we are tied to this relationship of marriage.” (Also Read: Anita Hassanandani Flaunts Her 'Baby Bump' From Naagin 3 Sets, Hubby Rohit Reddy's Reaction Is Epic)
She further added, “Even now we go on dates on Friday nights, we call each other girlfriend and boyfriend. So, we don't want to feel that burden that we are together just because we are in a marriage.” Shilpa also revealed the reason behind marriages that don’t last long, and shared, “They think they have some pressure so touchwood, that's not there between us.”
Shilpa also went on to reveal the equation with Raj, and stated, “Trust is also a bedrock of any relationship. It's our 10th year now... It's important to grow in any relationship, be it between friends, siblings or partners, otherwise, you outgrow the relationship. It's very important for me that I learn from every relationship that I have with people and I have learnt a lot of things from Raj and even you have to keep upgrading yourself.” (You May Also Like: Taimur Ali Khan Roams Outside His House With A Hammer, What Mischief He Is Up To?)

In a throwback interview with The Times of India, Shilpa wasn’t able to hold back her emotions and the love she feels towards her husband. The actress had shared, “I met Raj at a time in my life where I was riding this wave with the Big Brother success. He lived in London with his parents who had told him about me, ‘Yeh Shilpa Shetty aayee hai aur usne Indians ka naam ooncha kiya hai.’ He came to my hotel and the first thing was that he came and touched my mother’s feet even though he was a Londoner. And that sums up the person he is. He is very respectful and treats my parents like his.”
She had further added, “He is also an excellent son and I had thought, great husband, but he surpassed that with Viaan. I may do everything for Viaan, right from cleaning his potty to singing nursery rhymes, but the moment Raj will walk in, his focus shifts to him. Raj is a hands-on father and is happy to take him to the mandir alone or take a day off to be with him, if I am working. What I love most about Raj is that he is self-made and very hard-working and humble despite all that he has achieved at just 38. He is real and what you see is what you get and he has a great sense of humour. Because he is self-made, he says ‘even if I lose everything, I will make it back’ and doesn’t get attached to anything. I am happy I married a man I respected. Bluntly put, anyone who felt that it was a good catch for me, would change their mind if they met him.” (Don't Miss: Boney Kapoor Finally Reacts To His Son Arjun Kapoor And Malaika Arora's April Church Wedding Rumours)
