Cricket rivalry on the field is quite common, and it has been there since the very beginning. Moreover, ugly fights and disagreements have been witnessed when it comes to India vs Pakistan matches. However, no player ever tried to cross the boundary line and everything is always taken in the sportsman's spirit. But now, an old video of Pakistan's fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar resurfaced, wherein he admitted that he intentionally wanted to hurt Sachin Tendulkar. For the unversed, Shoaib Akhtar and Sachin Tendulkar are the two most loved cricketers and fans always loved to enjoy their enthralling battles on the field.

Recently, a Reddit user dropped a video of Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar on the discussion thread. The video is from one of his interviews with Sportskeeda. In the video, the cricketer can be seen admitting that during the 3rd Test match between India and Pakistan at the National Stadium, Karachi in 2006, he intentionally wanted to hurt Sachin Tendulkar. Elaborating more on it, he said:

"I want to reveal this today that I really wanted to injure Sachin in that match...I was determined to hurt Sachin at any cost in that match...And I kept at it although Inzamam-ul-Haq asked to bowl in front of the wickets."

Further, in the video, Shoaib elaborated on how he intentionally hit on Sachin's helmet. The cricketer went on to admit that he even thought that Sachin would be dead after his bouncer at his head. Shoaib added that after watching the replay, he found that the ball hit Sachin's forehead and he then again tried to injure the latter. In his words:

"So I deliberately hit on his helmet and even thought that he (Sachin_ would be dead...I saw the replay and found that the ball hit on his forehead...I then tried to injure him again."

Soon after the video went viral on the discussion platform, social media users flooded the comment section of the post with their hilarious reactions. While one Reddit user wrote, "Sportsman spirit aur Gentlemen's game. Dono ki aisi taisi kar di," another one commented, "What does he think he's achiveing by revealing this info at this stage? A more logical person would have taken this to the grave with himself and probably wouldn't have tried to hurt another player to begin with." Another comment can be read as, "Modern cricket fans will never realise the dangerous bowlers Sachin used to face during his era and before."

During the India vs Pakistan's 3rd Test match in 2006, India lost to Pakistan by 341 runs. Pakistan won the three-match Test series by 1-0. Shoaib Akhtar was the one who gave the initial incision by taking the most valuable wicket of Rahul Dravid. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar had scored 23 and 26 runs, respectively, in two innings.
