The television show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been hitting the headlines for quite some time. It all began after Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe were ousted from the show for their unprofessional behaviour, and this initiated a series of blame games in the media. Initially, reports claimed that this step was taken after dating reports of Shehzada and Pratiksha came into the limelight, which mentioned that the two of them spent a lot of time in the makeup room delaying their shoots. After a few more reports, Shehzada made some allegations about Rajan Shahi and said that the latter questioned his upbringing.
After quite some days, Shehzada Dhami's claims about Rajan Shahi asking everyone on the sets of his show to touch his feet surfaced on social media. Now, another popular television actress, Shruti Ulfat, who plays the role of 'Vidya Pauddar' in the show, reacted to the same claim in an interview with Telly Masala. The actress mentioned that Shehzada's allegations are all wrong and if this thing had happened ever, this is not bad, because this is a symbol of Indian culture. She said:
“I have never seen this happening. Whenever Rajan comes on the set, everyone meets him, but I have never seen anyone doing this.”

During the shoot of a hospital scene for the show, Pratiksha started laughing all of a sudden. Thus, the assistant director asked her to behave as it was causing difficulties in the shoot. Pratiksha got miffed by this, left the set and went to her makeup room. Soon, she was joined by her rumoured beau, Shehzada Dhami. The duo then refused to shoot until the assistant director was fired. This triggered the makers of the show, and after a certain turn of events, they were asked to exit the show.
After the whole fiasco, Rohit Purohit and Garvita Sadhwani replaced Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe in the lead roles. At that time, Rajan Shahi's production house, Directors Kut Production (DKP), also introduced some new policies in their contract for their actors. In an interview with Telly Talk, Rohit was then asked about the same and if the rumours are true that actors now have to sign a no-dating clause before coming on board with DKP. Rohit surprised everyone by saying that the rumour was absolutely true, and even he had to sign the contract before joining YRKKH.

An excerpt of Rohit's interview was shared on Twitter, and netizens flooded the comment section poking fun at the new policy. A section of the viewers supported the clause, stating that professionalism is a must in every field. However, others said that Rohit was taken in the cast only because of his marital status. For the unversed, Rohit is married to actress, Sheena Bajaj.
