We all are familiar with the pain of losing our close ones! In just a matter of a few seconds and 'boom', the person is gone forever with no goodbyes or hugs. A part of us dies with the death of our near and dear ones. And an exactly similar thing happened on January 14, 2020, when we got the news of Shweta Bachchan's mother-in-law, Ritu Nanda, who was fighting with cancer for quite some time. The entire nation was mourning her loss, after all, a big pillar of the Nanda family had passed away. For those who don't know, Ritu Nanda wasn't just a star sibling or a mother, but rather she had enjoyed her own identity as an entrepreneur. She had made a place for her name on the Guinness Book of Records for selling 17,000 pension policies in a single day and is known for her incredible work. She was the daughter of the legendary filmmaker, Raj Kapoor and had gotten married to Rajan Nanda. And Shweta Bachchan became her daughter-in-law when she had gotten married to Nikhil Nanda on February 16, 1997.
It is said that a mother-in-law becomes a support system for a girl when she enters a new home. She treats her like her own daughter and an exactly similar bond developed between late Ritu Nanda and Shweta Bachchan. On January 19, 2020, Shweta took to her Instagram handle and penned a note for Ritu ji. In the picture, we can see Shweta posing with her daughter, Navya and mother-in-law, Ritu. Along with it, she wrote, "Will miss you dearly". Take a look at it below:
Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan also got deeply disturbed by Ritu Nanda's demise. On January 14, 2020, Amitabh Bachchan had gathered his thoughts and shared it on his blog. He had narrated the moment when he found out about the sudden demise of Ritu ji. He had written, “That silent knock at the workplace... the hurried expression of worried concern... the hours that sleep in most parts of the World that seek the midnight... shuffled steps, soft anxious and disturbed conversations... and then within a blink... the lights go out... she has gone... distance and absence accentuates the grief... feel of loss, concern for those by the side, and the need to be in the embrace of them that see and suffer in the exact... such are the incomprehensible moments that the day in the day of lives throws at us." Amitabh ji took a journey down the memory lane and recalled the times spent with her, "Polite conversation, of reminisce, of association, of happy times spent together, of the fight and struggle for the ailment for years... and most of all the loneliness of them that are left behind... the vacuum... the emptiness .. the presence that filled up the entire home... lost and gone... that empty favourite chair... that corner of preference... the unstinted care and concern for all when present, now suddenly not in existence…the voice of the bird that built her little nest, heard no more... the delicate nest shedding its strains of the making... the command the control the authority, suddenly absent."
