Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi hit many headlines back in 2019 when the latter gave a sassy response about the actress' comment on her 'struggles' in Bollywood. After this incident, people expected the duo to never see each other, but Ananya and Siddhant worked together in the film, Gehraiyaan. Later, they became friends while working on their upcoming film, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
During the latest interview with Film Companion, Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi threw light on their infamous nepotism debate. Siddhant shared that he believes what happened between him and Ananya during the old roundtable interview hosted by film critic, Rajeev Masand, acted as an ice-breaker in their friendship. To this, Ananya added:

“Yeah, and then it went into a glacier on the first day of our friendship. With Sid, I can just call him and tell him what I feel. If I felt that something was not okay, personally and professionally, or he felt something was not fine, we have always told each other and that’s the way we have kept it. It’s a good way to be with anyone.”

When Siddhant Chaturvedi was asked about his friendship with Ananya Panday, the actor shared that his jibe never tarnished the relationship between them. In Siddhant's words:
“It never affected our friendship because we did Gehraiyaan right after that. Then we did Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.”
It was back during a 2020 roundtable interview with CNN-News 18 when the then-newcomer, Ananya Panday, was asked about her take on nepotism. Responding to the same, Ananya said that she always wanted to be an actress, and it had nothing to do with her dad, Chunky Pandey, who is also an actor. The actress also stated that her dad had his fair share of struggles, and he had never been with the Dharma films or graced Koffee With Karan.

As Ananya made the comment during the roundtable, Siddhant Chaturvedi, who gained popularity after playing 'MC Sher' in Gully Boy, interrupted her and took a dig at nepotism. He jokingly pulled Ananya's leg and stated that the actress' struggle begins where his dreams are fulfilled. Siddhant said:
"I think everybody has their own struggle. Sabka struggle alag hota hai. Difference yahi hai ki jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahan inka struggle shuru hota hai."
