Popular actor, Siddhant Chaturvedi had become a sensation after portraying MC Sher in Zoya Akhtar’s film, Gully Boy. Praises and appreciation had poured in from around the country for Siddhant after his groundbreaking performance in the movie. Some critics even believed that he had overshadowed the film’s lead actor, Ranveer Singh. Soon after this, Siddhant had stunned the audience again with his stellar performance in a romantic drama, Gehraiyaan. Now, he disclosed the awkward encounter he had with his dad right after they finished watching the movie together.
A Shakun Batra directorial, Gehraiyaan split the audience in half as it had got polarised opinions. The movie deals with complex adult relationships, choices and mental health. It had featured actors, Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa in lead roles. The makers had also roped in an intimacy coach, resulting in sizzling on-screen chemistry between Siddhant and Deepika.

In a recent conversation with Janice Sequeira in the show, Social Media Star, Siddhant revealed why he had avoided conversing with his father immediately after watching Gehraiyaan together. He said that the first time he had watched the movie was with his parents. The movie had ended late, and Siddhant’s dad had approached him, wanting to have a conversation. To which Siddhant had said this is not something you discuss with your dad. In his words:
“Pehli baar jab maine jab film dekhi, mere mom dad ke saath dekhi. Film late khatam hui, toh mere papa aaye andar, Boley Baat karna chahta hoon film ke baare mein, maine kaha ke nahi, nahi, main sone jaa raha hoon, yeh koi baat hai baap-bete ke beech mein karne wali.”
Further in the interview, Siddhant admitted that he avoided the conversation ever since. When asked why he does not talk about it, Siddhant said that he is an actor so he has to do all kinds of roles but still tries to maintain etiquettes around his father. Siddhant can be quoted as saying:
“Aaj tak maine baat nahi ki hai. Arey, lihaaz kuch hai na, daire hote hain. Ab aisi film hai, actor hain toh role karna padta hai.”

In an interview with ETimes, Siddhant had told that though he was awkward with his parents, he had still managed to speak about it with his dad over a call and had learned that his dad loved the movie and had said:
“Yeh film samaaj ka darpan hai. Ismay kuch sahi galat nahi hai. Koi message nahi de rahe hai hum. The world has changed and these kinds of stories exist.”

During Gehraiyaan’s cast stint on The Kapil Sharma Show, they were seen having a lot of masti, and their fun banters made us go ROFL. Later, Kapil Sharma had posted an uncensored video from the episode on his YouTube channel. In the video, Siddhant had revealed an anecdote about his chachaji's hilarious reaction to his kissing scene with Deepika Padukone in Gehraiyaan. He had shared:
“Jab film ka trailer aaya toh gaon se phone aaya chachaji ka… Woh keh rahe the sparsh hua hai ya beech mein sheesha rakha gaya hai? Papa ne bola, ‘Yaar iska jawaab main kya doon?."
Talking about Ranveer Singh’s reaction to Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi's intimate scenes with each other in the film, Gehraiyaan, earlier, Deepika had revealed whether her husband, Ranveer Singh, is okay with her doing those scenes or not. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress had addressed the comments that had asked if her husband, Ranveer, gets affected by those scenes. Talking about the same, Deepika had revealed:
"It's stupid that we're even reacting to it. I think, for us, that's the most important thing. I don't read comments. I'm pretty certain even he doesn't. And, I think. Yuck! It just feels so stupid."
On the professional front, Siddhant Chaturvedi will be next seen in the movie, Phone Bhoot opposite Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter.
