Simi Garewal is a name that everyone is familiar with, courtesy of her cult talk show, Rendezvous With Simi Garewal, which featured famous names like Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan, Tiger Pataudi-Sharmila Tagore, Ratan Tata, Hema Malini, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani and many more faces of the Tinseltown. However, the lady in white is known for looking inside a person's heart with her mere words of wisdom.
Simi Garewal became everyone's favourite with her classic films such as Mera Naam Joker, Karz and Chalte Chalte. She was the crush of many youngsters back then, including Rishi Kapoor. While Simi Garewal often dug inside a celebrity's heart and mind to know details about their personal life, she kept her life away from showbiz. But there are some people who left an important place in Simi's heart and mind.
Simi Garewal was just seventeen when she first fell in love. And not just any man; she was head-over-heels in love with the Maharaja of Jamnagar. He was Simi's neighbour, and they had a passionate relationship that lasted three years. The gorgeousness once revealed that she had done a lot of crazy things with life as it was her first love, and she saw the world with rosy glasses.
However, with time, Simi Garewal's relationship with the Maharaja turned toxic due to possessiveness. In an interview with Filmfare, Simi revealed that her first relationship cured her from being jealous forever. She said:
"At 17, I fell in love with my neighbour – the Maharaja of Jamnagar. It was a turbulent and passionate affair that lasted for three years. He showed me a wonderful world of animals, sports and food. Of passion and compassion… we did mad, crazy things but it grew obsessive. I look back at it now with a smile. But I realised what possessiveness could do to a relationship. It cured me forever of jealousy in love."
Simi always fell in love with strong men in power. Not many know that she had a past with the late industrialist Ratan Tata. She once happily shared their long history. Simi even heaped praises on him and revealed that money was never his driving force. She also shared that he felt relaxed abroad and not in India.

When Sir Ratan Tata passed away earlier in October 2024, Simi penned a heartfelt note for him, saying that the loss was too much to handle. She wrote:
"They say you have gone .. It's too hard to bear your loss..too hard.. Farewell my friend..#RatanTata."
Another man who touched Simi Garewal's life was Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the captain of the Indian cricket team. There was a time when Mansoor was madly in love with Simi's beauty. She would often attend his matches, and he would surprise her by visiting her sets.
However, things took an ugly turn when Mansoor met Sharmila. One day, he went to Simi's home and she offered him a lemonade. But before taking a sip of it, he announced to Simi how he couldn't continue the relationship as he has met someone. He said"
“I’m sorry but I want to make it clear it is over between us, I’ve met someone else.
In 1970, Simi Garewal took the plunge and married Ravi Mohan, who was from an aristocratic family in Delhi. She dated for a short period of time before getting married to him. Their long-distance marriage lasted a decade. However, with time, the love in their marriage left. She said:
"I got married at 27, within three months of knowing my ex-husband long-distance. I knew the moment I’d done it, it won’t work. We were two very different people. And this idea of women having to leave their home and work just because they got married is really unfair."
Well, Simi is a strong woman, and she has been one of the most amazing men!
