Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya and Sara Ali Khan starrer Sky Force are dominating the headlines as the aerial action thriller has made its way to the OTT platform. The film, based on India’s first and deadliest air strike during the Indo-Pakistani war, is gaining garnering audience’s attention after its digital release on Amazon Prime Video.
The film, which saw a theatrical release on Republic Day 2024, features an elaborate star cast, including Akshay Kumar, who played the role of ‘Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja’. On the other hand, the film marked the debut of social media sensation, Veer Pahariya, who played the role of ‘Squadron Leader T Krishna Vijaya’. Veer’s former girlfriend, Sara Ali Khan, played Veer’s wife, ‘Geeta Vijaya’.
The film is streaming in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. As Sky Force is leading the spotlight all over again, let us look at the whopping fees charged by the actors, who played crucial roles in the film.
There is no doubt that Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable actors in Bollywood. The actor is known for charging a whopping fee for a single appearance. For his role in Sky Force, the actor was paid 50 percent of the film’s budget. The film was made on a budget of Rs. 160 crore, and Akshay took home Rs. 70 crore.
Sara Ali Khan, who played Veer Pahariya’s wife, ‘Geeta Vijaya’, was a delight. The actress was Veer’s former girlfriend in real life, and shared some cozy moments with the actor on-screen. Though her fee was 10 times less than what Akshay took home, Sara still earned a decent remuneration of Rs. 3 crores.

The much-anticipated film also featured Nimrat Kaur, who reunited with her Airlift co-star, Akshay Kumar. Nimrat played Akshay’s wife, ‘Preeti Ahuja’, in the film, and the actress reportedly took home a paycheck of Rs. 1 crore.
Actor Sharad Kelkar played a pivotal role in Sky Force as he played the role of Squadron Leader, Amjad Hussain of the Pakistan Air Force. He acts as a catalyst to find the truth about the missing Indian officer, ‘Squadron Leader T Krishna Vijaya’, played by Veer Pahariya. For his role in Sky Force, Sharad was paid Rs. 70 lakhs.
Sky Force marked the much-awaited debut of Veer Pahariya, who is the grandson of former CM of Maharashtra, Sushilkumar Shinde. With his debut, Veer did complete justice to his role of ‘Squadron Leader T Krishna Vijaya’, also known as ‘Tabby’. Despite his spectacular performance and leaving the audience spellbound, Veer was the lowest-paid actor in the star cast. Yes, you read that right. The handsome actor was paid Rs. 50 lakhs for his role. Not only this, Veer spent three and a half years preparing for the film.
In an interview with Firstpost, Veer Pahariya spoke about the challenges he faced during the making of Sky Force and stated it was difficult for him to maintain his physical appearance. In his words:
“Shooting went on for a year-and-a-half so it was very challenging to maintain that physicality because I gain weight rapidly. I had to maintain a specific kind of physicality and body weight because pilots are light and agile to be able to fit into the cockpit. So that eating and sleeping process was a challenging process.”
