On March 2, 2019, Smriti took to Instagram to share a heartfelt wish for her son, Zohr Irani’s 12th class board examinations. The minister wrote a sweet note for him on Instagram with a throwback picture of her little lad. She wrote, “This first born of mine has grown up to be a loving & responsible young man. Wrote his first 12th board exam today, will leave home soon in pursuit of his dreams. Keeps telling me Ma ab aap height mein chote ho gaye mujhse’ . Does not know har Ma ki dua hai ki uska bachcha sirf height mein nahi, balki Jeevan mein usse aage badhe. Khush rahe aur tarraki kare. @zohrirani_21.” Take a look at the picture below:
Smriti’s post went viral within seconds and the netizens were quick to praise her effort. While one of the users commented, "This is so sweet!! Moms are best!! We can never repay everything that our mom does for us", the others could relate to the motherly feeling and wrote, "My daughter will be doing the same next year! I cannot imagine her out of the house! Great feeling at the same time hard to digest!" Take a look at how the internet reacted to her note:
For those who don’t know, Smriti had found love in her friend Mona Irani’s ex-husband, Zubin Irani. She tied the knot with him in the year 2001. In an interview, she had shared, “I married Zubin because I needed him. I was consulting him, talking to him and meeting him every day. So we said why not marry and be best friends as well as a married couple. Both my parents and his agreed to our marriage and blessed us. I would never dream of marrying against the wishes of my parents because I believe strongly that hurting parents causes unhappiness and destruction for the couple.” (Also Read: Kartik Aaryan Says He Would Like To Live In With Sara Ali Khan, And His Reason Is Just Perfect)

In a throwback interview with The Telegraph, Smriti talked about her husband and how he has been a constant source of support for her. She had said, “From Zubin I learnt patience, forgiveness. I learnt to be single-minded in my determination. When I had my first child, I wanted to give up working. He said, ‘Have I given up because I have had a child? Why should you?’ Every woman should be lucky enough to marry a man like Zubin. I don’t know why I gloat about it, but I am lucky. My stability-taking what comes my way with a pinch of salt and a smile-comes from my husband.”
In another throwback interview with an online portal, Rediff.com, Smriti shared a belief on a happy home and self-respect. She had stated, “Home is where the heart is, and so is family. I think in today's day and age, it doesn't matter whether your family is joint or nuclear. What matters is how important are relationships for you, and to what length would you go to maintain them. I think the idea is to give respect to your elders and those who are younger than you, but to stand your ground firmly when it comes to issues close to your heart. Jhukne se insaan chhota nahin hota, lekin logon ko bhi saavdhani barakhni chaahiye that humility and respect need not necessarily mean weakness. So love your mother-in-law, but never compromise on self-respect!” (Don't Miss: Taimur Ali Khan Is All Smiles For The Paparazzi As He Gives His Daily Dose Of Cuteness)
