In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Smriti Khanna, who is due for April 10, spoke about how she is managing doctor visits during the COVID-19 lockdown. Making the most of her quarantine and last days of pregnancy with hubby, Gautam Gupta, Smriti remarked, “For the last few days, Gautam (Smriti’s husband) and I are getting to spend more time with each other which is a great thing. This is a hard time for everyone but we keep thinking how can we make the most of it. We are taking all the safety measures whatever the government has advised, we did our own research, spoke to our doctors, and keeping the house clean. We have done everything we could. We also took labour and feeding classes together before the lockdown.”
How their post-delivery planning had gone for a toss, Smriti Khanna shared, “We had hired a nurse so that when the baby will come, she will be there to take care of. But now due to the lockdown, she won’t be able to come. So we have to manage everything on our own for the first few days.” Revealing how her parents had wanted to surprise her when she goes into labour but now won’t be able to come and meet their grandchild, Smriti stated, “My parents stay in Delhi and they are so excited about their first grandchild. They were about to surprise me and asked Gautam to call them when I go to the labour room and they will take flight and will surprise me before I deliver. Now, they can’t come and even after the flights start operating, it’s very risky that they directly come and meet the baby.” (Also Read: Karan Johar Is Trolled By His Kids, Yash And Roohi Johar for Being Overweight, Karan Seems Upset)
Despite being locked at home, soon-to-be mommy, Smriti Khanna makes sure to complete her daily workout and prenatal yoga. Speaking of her workout routine, Smriti said, “I was doing prenatal yoga. Now, as my yoga teacher can’t come, so she is doing it online. There is an app through which she does a one-hour session with me. Also, I walk on my terrace for about half an hour to 40 minutes. I never miss that. I am getting to eat more healthy food as everything is cooked at home. I used to eat lots of junk food which I am not getting now which is in a way a good thing.” Sharing tips for the expecting women, Smriti was quoted as saying, “Even if you are locked down at home, there are lots of videos online of workout and yoga. There are apps that tell you what workout you can do during pregnancy. To deal with your anxiety, spend time with your loved ones, watch your favourite shows, meditate.”

Revealing how she used to panic before the lockdown happened, Smriti Khanna continued, “Gautam, my father, and brother-in-law, everyone was going out to work and I was the only one staying at home. So, I was panicking a lot at that time because they used to come back home meeting lots of people. There was no much information about pregnant women and coronavirus. That was causing anxiety which is not good at this time. I was trying to keep myself calm. When the lockdown happened, I was a little relieved in fact. So in that way, we are in a safer environment now but still, I am thinking of what will happen after April 14.”
Amidst the coronavirus scare, Smriti Khanna had penned down an emotional note for her to-be born baby, wherein she had asked her little one to hang inside her tummy for a little longer as the outside world has gone crazy. Her note can be read as “Dear baby, just hang in there for a few more days. The world outside is going crazy! I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that you’re so strong already and you’ll be born into a world which is learning a whole new way of living, which isn’t a bad thing. Also know that you’re celebrated each day. Every kick, roll and movement within is noticed and adored. I hope you’re feeling all the love. I feel for other mamas who are in this situation - a pregnancy full of uncertainty and added anxiety. But remember, we are all together in this and together we can do it all #babybump #quarantinelife #9monthspregnant #thistooshallpass.” (Also Read: Hrithik Roshan Plays Chess With His Son, Compares The Game With COVID-19 In His Inspirational Post)
