Sobhita Dhulipala is all set to marry the love of her life, Naga Chaitanya, on December 4, 2024, at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. Ahead of the ceremony, the actress shared pictures from her Pelli Kuturu ceremony on November 2, 2024. For the uninitiated, the ceremony is a traditional bridal shower, where the bride seeks blessings from the elders before she starts the new chapter of her life.
The pre-wedding rituals for Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya have already kicked off. Their haldi pictures had gone viral, and now the actress shared stunning snaps from her Pelli Kuthuru ceremony. Sobhita donned a traditional red and golden-hued saree for her pre-wedding function. She looked resplendent in a Telugu-style maang tika on her forehead. The snaps showed her having fun moments with her family as they applied turmeric paste on her feet that had anklets. Aarti was done for Sobhita, who looked splendid. She sought blessings from her elders, posted for numerous pictures and wrote in her caption, "Pelli Kuthuru" with a love emoji.
The actress also performed at the auspicious Raata ceremony. She donned the traditional jewellery of her grandmother and mother, which made it extra special for the actress. She gave a traditional touch to the usual pre-wedding ceremonies. The actress also had a Goduma aayi pasupu danchadam which is a crushing turmeric ceremony in October 2024. The significance of the ritual was about the beginning of the wedding preparations.
The actress had the Raata sthaapana and Mangalasnanam ritual before her Pelli Kuthuru ceremony, a traditional haldi ceremony. As per traditions, the mehendi ceremony would follow reportedly, and Sobhita would get married to Naga on December 4 2024. After the Raata ceremony, the Mangalasnaanam ritual took place. For the unversed, turmeric paste is put on the bride in this ritual as it is considered auspicious.
The couple got engaged in August 2024 and will marry in Annapurna Studios, which is owned by Naga Chaitanya’s grandfather, Nagarjuna Akkineni. Chaitanya's dad was very happy with his son's choice earlier. Once, in a media statement, he said:

The actor and Sobhita reportedly would be wearing traditional pattu silk attires. The selected guest list will include their close friends, family members, and colleagues. Chaitanya was earlier married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The couple dated for a couple of years before getting married in 2017. They had dated for a long time before they took the plunge of coming into wedlock. However, their relationship did not have a happily ever after as they reportedly separated in October 2021 because of personal differences. Their divorce was finalised in 2022.
