Despite hailing from a privileged background, he put in a lot of hard work and dedicated efforts to earn the reputation and stardom that he has today. In his personal life, Sohail got married to Seema Sajdeh and the couple welcomed two sons, Nirvan and Yohan. Unfortunately, due to irreconcilable issues, the couple divorced one another in 2022. In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Sohail Khan opened up about his firstborn, Nirvan Khan making a career into films. He mentioned:

“Agar aapko actor banana hai toh toh pata nahin kyun log director ke assistant ban jate hain. Senior actors must give junior and budding actors a chance to be around them and learn from them. I would love Nirvan to assist actors like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, Shahid Kapoor, Nana Patekar to observe them and read lines with them.”

Moving forward in the conversation, Sohail Khan revealed an unheard anecdote about his elder brother, Salman Khan. The former revealed that his bhaijaan, back during their childhood was a skilled left-hand bowler and was very good at it. Unfortunately, Sohail revealed that after Salman’s overnight success in films washed out his talent towards the sport. Sharing how the burden of responsibilities on Salman Khan made him forget his love for cricket, Sohail said:
“I don’t know when this switch happened — from cricket to acting. Salman was a left-handed bowler and quite a good one at that. Amid overnight success after he ventured into films, cricket was forgotten. Despite loving sports and adventure, he was suddenly burdened with a lot of responsibilities — of his fans and taking care of himself — he had to tread with caution."
Previously, in an interaction with the media during the promotions of the film, Tubelight, Sohail Khan made a candid remark about his elder brother, Salman Khan, while he heaped praises on the latter’s professionalism. When Sohail was asked if he would consider roping in his brother for his directorial venture, he revealed that even though Salman was family to him, nevertheless, the latter was a superstar and had his own committed schedules to work. He further added that Salman was a professional at the end of the day, and it was upto him if he wanted to join any film.

Earlier, in a podcast interaction with Shivani Pau, Sohail Khan’s ex-wife, Seema Sajdeh opened up about their decision of taking a divorce from one another. She remarked that it wouldn’t be right to just blame her ex-husband, as it was a decision made in mutual consent. Talking more about it, she said:
“Why should I blame him, it suited both of us. Our son Nirvan was at that age where he didn’t want it but there came a time when I had to choose between my marriage and my son. My son was going down a path that I was very scared of. One morning I woke up and realised that either I focus all my energies on saving this marriage, or my son. That’s when I decided and chose him.”
