Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are the newlyweds in Tinseltown. The duo broke all barriers to be with each other and tied the knot on June 23, 2024. Sonakshi and Zaheer's union didn't go down well with some people, as they belonged to different religions. People passed hate comments on the couple, trying to ruin their happiness. However, Zaheer and Sonakshi were so happy at their wedding that they didn't even bother about the speculations even for a second.
On July 2, 2024, one of Sonakshi Sinha's friends, Prachi Mishra took to her IG handle and shared an inside video from the former's wedding with Zaheer Iqbal. In the video, Sonakshi and Zaheer looked super happy on their special day and were seen screaming in joy. The duo grooved to the beats of dhol and vibing to Honey Singh's songs. Sharing the video, Prachi revealed Sonakshi and Zaheer were unaffected by media speculations and penned:
"In the age where every single detail of the Big Day is outsourced. We received a surprise in the form of a voice message and video call, both of which emphasized that Sona and Zahir, the callers (now Man and Wife) are getting married and we should dress to impress! Everything was so personal like old times! The media had their considerable share of speculation but our blockbuster Jodi were unaffected and focused on how all their guest can feel at home."

She further revealed the deets of Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding and mentioned that the registered marriage was followed by Kanyadan. Moreover, the guests witnessed the divine amalgamation of mantras and azaan at the same time. Wishing the duo all the happiness and peace in the world, Prachi wrote:
"The marriage began with a civil ceremony followed by the Hindu custom of Kanyadan (the bride’s parents giving away their daughter to the groom). This essential ceremony became even more holy when the chanting of the mantras divinely amalgamated with the sound of the Azaan from the mosque. 'Love conquers all' only read and heard but looking at you guys it made us believe as well! Wishing you both a very happy and blissful life together. May God protect both of you from all the Buri Nazar!"

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal had an inter-faith marriage, which left people speculating if the actress would convert to Islam in the future. However, in an interview with the Free Press Journal, Sonakshi's father-in-law, Iqbal Ratansi, revealed that the actress is not converting to Islam. Zaheer and Sonakshi's union signifies their love for one another, and it is not related to their religions. Ratansi added:
"She is not converting and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi."

Soon after their intimate wedding, Sonakshi and Zaheer shared surreal photos from their low-key ceremony on Instagram. In the pictures, the couple twinned in ivory-hued ensembles and won hearts with their chemistry. Expressing their happiness over the special occasion, the newlyweds wrote a heartfelt caption and revealed that they got married on the day when they fell in love for the first time seven years back. However, soon, the post was filled with hate remarks for Zaheer and Sonakshi, so they disabled the comments section.
