Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are counting hours to hop onto their forever journey. The duo will get married tomorrow, i.e., June 23, 2024. There had been a lot of rumours about Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding for a long time. Soon after, the reports about the duo's decision to marry each other started making the headlines, and netizens started dropping negative comments about their inter-faith marriage. It was also speculated that Sonakshi's family was not happy with her marriage, and Shatrughan Sinha was especially upset with the actress' decision. Later, Shatrughan dismissed all such claims and stated that although there had been some 'pre-wedding conflicts', everything was sorted, and he would be part of the actress' happiness.
As Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal will have an inter-faith marriage, people have been wondering if the actress will convert to Islam once she is hitched. Now, Zaheer's father and Sonakshi's to-be father-in-law, Iqbal Ratansi revealed the truth. In an interview with the Free Press Journal, Ratansi stated that Sonakshi is not converting to Islam, and it's a union of hearts, and their different religions would play no part in the same. He blessed the couple and added that he believes in humanity. Ratansi can be quoted as saying:
"She is not converting and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi."

There have been a lot of reports about Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding. While some stated that their wedding would take place at the South Mumbai eatery, Bastian, another report suggested that the duo would have a registered wedding. Later, Shatrughan Sinha mentioned that he and his wife, Poonam would grace only the reception of Sonakshi and Zaheer on June 23, 2024, which left people wondering if the duo was already married. Now, in an interview with the Free Press Journal, Zaheer's father, Iqbal Ratansi clarified all the rumours and stated that the duo would get married neither according to Hindu rituals nor as per Islamic rituals, rather they will have a civil ceremony. Zaheer's father said:
"It will have neither Hindu nor Muslim rituals. It will be a civil marriage."
