On June 25, 2024, popular caricature artist, Prasad Bhat shared an animated picture of Sonakshi and Zaheer from their wedding reception. In the photo, the duo flaunted their brightest smiles as they made their first appearance as husband and wife. While Sonakshi was decked up in her red saree, Zaheer looked dapper in an ivory-hued embroidered sherwani. Sharing the photo, the artist penned:

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal indeed looked like a match made in heaven, and there is no second thought about it. However, netizens left no stone unturned to troll them for their interfaith marriage and ruined their special day. But it looks like Sonakshi has seemingly addressed the trolls who have been targeting her and Zaheer's marriage on social media. The actress reacted to Prasad Bhat's post on Instagram that talked about love being the universal religion and wrote:
“Truest words!! This is adorable! Thank you.”
Shatrughan Sinha is completely unfazed by the ongoing protests against Sonakshi Sinha's interfaith marriage. However, in an interview with Times Now, Shatrughan mentioned that people will always have something to say about others and his daughter's marriage is their personal matter. Adding that Sonakshi has done nothing illegal or unconstitutional, Shatrughan said:
"Anand Bakshi Saab has written about such professional protesters Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. My daughter has done nothing illegal or unconstitutional. A marriage is a very personal decision between two people. No one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protestors I say, 'Go get a life. Do something useful with your life.' Bas, aur kuch nahin kehna."

Soon after their intimate wedding, Sonakshi and Zaheer shared surreal photos from their low-key ceremony on Instagram. In the pictures, the couple twinned in ivory-hued ensembles and won hearts with their chemistry. Expressing their happiness over the special occasion, the newlyweds wrote a heartfelt caption and revealed that they got married on the day when they fell in love for the first time seven years back. However, soon the post was filled with hate remarks for Zaheer and Sonakshi, so they disabled the comments section.
