Sonakshi Sinha Reveals Husband, Zaheer Iqbal Is Similar To Father, Shatrughan Sinha, 'He Was Happy'

The newlywed couple, Sonakshi Sinha and her husband, Zaheer Iqbal, make one of the ideal couples in Bollywood. Despite being in the media spotlight for years, they managed to keep their relationship under wraps before they got married under the Special Marriage Act on July 23, 2024. They never fail to share their admiration for each other and often share unknown anecdotes from their dating period in recent interviews. In a new interview, Sonakshi Sinha revealed how her father, Shatrughan Sinha, felt about her relationship with then-beau, Zaheer Iqbal.

Sonakshi Sinha reveals her husband, Zaheer, is similar to her father in many ways 

Sonakshi Sinha is the daughter of veteran actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. When the reports of her marriage came out in May 2024, there were rumours about her family being unhappy over her relationship with Zaheer Iqbal. Soon, her father, Shatrughan Sinha, cleared the air by giving a statement in the media. However, her brother's absence in her wedding further gave boost to the speculations. Recently, Sonakshi sat down for an interview with Zoom and shared that her family and friends knew about her relationship with Zaheer Iqbal from a long time.

The Akira actress revealed that her father was happy, and he said that if the couple is happy, nothing more is essential. She added that her father, Shatrughan Sinha's birthday, and husband, Zaheer Iqbal's birthday are just one day apart. As a result, they are similar, and her father is fond of Zaheer. She was quoted as saying: 

"My dad was very happy. He said, ‘Jab miyan biwi raazi toh kya karega kaazi. He had met Zaheer a few times before. He is very fond of him. 'Their birthdays are around the same time: My dad's is on December 9 and Zaheer's is on December 10, so they are very similar.'"

Sonakshi Sinha shared that her parents also had a love marriage and understood her bond with Zaheer Iqbal 

In the same interview, Sonakshi Sinha shared her mother, Poonam Sinha's first reaction to her relationship with Zaheer Iqbal. The Dabangg actress shared that she first shared about her relationship with her mother, Poonam Sinha. So, she knew about him for a long time. At the same time, her parents themselves had a love marriage and knew how things would go. In her words: 

"My mom knew him. She was the first one I confided to. They themselves had a love marriage and they know how it will go."

Sonakshi Sinha's professional life so far 

Sonakshi Sinha debuted with the blockbuster film, Dabangg, co-starring Salman Khan and Sonu Sood in the showbiz. She has starred in popular movies like Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardaar, Dabangg 2, Lootera, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara, Kalank, and more. The actress was last seen in the comedy-horror film, Kakuda, co-starring Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. Sonakshi is currently enjoying a few days off work after her marriage. She will next be seen in Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness.
