Sonakshi Sinha has been hitting the headlines for quite some time now. Initially, it was because of her charming performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, and following this, her wedding rumours with her longtime beau, Zaheer Iqbal. Amidst all this, rumours were rife that Sonakshi moved out of her father, Shatrughan Sinha's house long back and was living with her to-be-husband. However, now in an interview, she dismissed all such rumours.
In a recent interview with Galatta India, Sonakshi Sinha dismissed rumours about her moving out of her daddy, Shatrughan Sinha's house and living with her to-be-husband, Zaheer Iqbal. During one of the segments of the candid conversation, when the show's host, Nayandeep Rakshit asked her, "Now that you are staying on your own." She immediately interrupted him and asked, "Who told you that I'm staying on my own?" The host then was heard saying, "I thought you were staying on your own." To which, Sonakshi mockingly said, "You thought. Yehi hota hai jab people think nah", and continued explaining:
"I still live with my parents. Yeah, I bought a house that's my chill pad. I do my work meetings over there, I do my shoots over there, I get ready for my events over there. And then I do all my work stuffs over there and I go back home and sleep."

Earlier, a source close to Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal revealed to Hindustan Times, that the couple has been together for two years now. And it was only a while back that they decided to take the plunge and get married. As per the source, the couple has moved in a while ago, and they have the blessings of their families to embark on this new journey of their lives. The source added:
"Sonakshi and Zaheer moved in together a while ago. The soon-to-be bride and groom have the blessings of their families. The wedding is going to be an intimate affair, with only the couple’s families and close friends in attendance. Sonakshi doesn't want to give out much details of her wedding before it happens and wants to keep it just in her close circle. Many of her actor friends will also be marking their presence to be a part of the most special day for the couple."
According to the source, Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding plans were at a pause as the actress' father was busy with the election. For the uninitiated, Shatrughan Sinha won his seat after contesting for TMC, from Asansol, West Bengal. The source added that Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding will take place at the South Mumbai eatery, Bastian, on June 23, 2024, followed by a reception party at night. Ahead of that, there will be a celebration at their family home on June 22, 2024, which will be attended by close friends and family members.

When Sonakshi Sinha graced Kapil Sharma's Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, the host asked her about her marriage plans. The comedian mentioned that Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani, and many others got married. However, soon he changed the question and asked, "Is your character in Heeramandi, positive or negative?" To this, Sonakshi wittily added:
"Bas aap jale pe namak daal rahe ho na. Wo janta hai mujhe kitne zor se shaadi karni hai. Heeramandi bhi khatam ho gayi, meri shaadi nahi huyi.”
