Sonali Bendre is one of the most loved actresses of B-town. At the age of 19, Sonali Bendre had made her acting debut in Bollywood with the film, Aag. With her performances in movies like Diljale, Major Saab, Zakhm, Sarfarosh, Hum Saath Saath Hain and many more, Sonali had proved her mettle in acting and won the hearts of the audience with her charming looks.
In 2018, Sonali Bendre had announced the news of being diagnosed with metastatic cancer. However, she battled the disease with her courage and made sure to document every moment of her journey. Sonali made sure that cancer didn't overpower her spirit, and even after four years, the actress is inspiring millions.

On July 12, 2022, Sonali took to her IG handle and posted a Reel and recalled her cancer journey as the actress revisited the hospital where she got her cancer treatment. The Reel featured glimpses of Sonali’s first visit, moments after her chemo sessions. Along with the Reel, she penned an emotional note, which can be read as:
“This chair, this view, this exact same spot… 4 years later. From sheer terror to continued hope, so much has changed yet so much remains the same.”
On the same note, she penned the unreal emotions of seeing the chemotherapy suite and the waiting room. Talking about hope, Sonali continued:
“It was unreal to sit there and see patients going in and I could see that I had been through a similar journey... saw the chemotherapy suite, the same waiting room, faces were different… I felt like telling the patients that there’s HOPE, and I am there on the other side and look at me today I have come in for a visit on the other side of the spectrum…It was, as you can guess, a very bittersweet, emotional day. I stepped out, looked my son in the eye, with the sunshine on my face and thanked the universe for everything.”

Sonali Bedre often talks about her cancer journey, and in a chat with Mashable India, she had revealed how she was left with a 23-inch scar post her cancer surgery. She also added that her doctors had asked her to start walking as soon as possible as they were concerned about her catching an infection. Revealing how she struggled to walk within 24 hours of her surgery, Sonali had shared:
"Post surgery, my surgeon was like I want you walking in 24 hours. In 24 hours, I was holding my IV and walking in the corridor. It was hard because I had a cut which is 23-24 inches.”
On the professional front, Sonali made her OTT debut with the show, The Broken News.
