Punjabi actress, Sonam Bajwa recently gave her opinion on how she helps the producers by effectively reducing her expenses on the sets. For the unversed, Sonam is the winner of the Best Actress award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards for her performance in the 2020 film, Ardab Mutiyaran. Apart from Punjabi films, she has also worked in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil language films. The stunning actress will be next seen in the Punjabi movie, Kudi Haryane Val Di, alongside Ammy Virk.
Amid the ongoing financial scrutiny in the Hindi film industry with producers, including Karan Johar, and many other directors discussing the rising production costs, Sonam Bajwa opened up about the same in a candid interview with HTCity. The Street Dancer 3D actress shared that she doesn't encourage wasting the producer's money by making unnecessary expenses. Explaining how the 34-year-old thus, at times, does her own makeup and styling, Sonam shared:
“I anyway don’t like being crowded by people at all times. I want minimum people to stay around me. So many times it has happened that I have done my own make-up. I am my own stylist at least 99 per cent of the time.”

Further, Sonam revealed that although it is a “very individual choice and opinion” to think from an empathetic point of view, she does so because she loves to work within small teams. The Punjabi film industry’s highest-paid female actress then mentioned that she doesn't approve of food being wasted or other things done solely for showing-offs in her sets. In her words:
“I feel as a responsible actor, if you can help the producer reduce the cost of anything, you must do that. I always tell my team, if I become a producer and if there is wastage, I will feel very bad. So all of us have to conduct ourselves thinking the film is ours too. Aisa nahi hona chahiye ki khana waste ho raha hai, ya kuch use nahi ho raha. Nothing should be there for show-off and if there is something I can do, I do that.”
In the same conversation, Sonam talked about the prevalent paparazzi culture in Mumbai, and mentioned that only because of this reason, she needs to get dressed up beautifully while travelling for her various work commitments. The Bala actress, however, also mentioned that although the celebs are being followed by the cameramen on numerous occasions, she realises they are also doing their job. She also added that the work done by the paps is quite commendable.
