Taking to Reddit, an internet user recently dropped a clip from Sonam Kapoor’s interaction with Karan Johar on the latter’s show, Koffee With Karan, wherein the actress accompanied her father, Anil Kapoor on the couch. The clip captures one of Sonam’s startling revelations, where the actress mentioned how she feels proud being considered an icon already by her ‘20s, whereas most other actresses get such a landmark label way back in their ‘40s and ‘50s. She further explained:
“I want to go down till posterity, you know what I mean? And being considered an icon in my ‘20s, when people like are in their ‘40s or after they die are considered icons. I think its amazing.”

Interestingly, as Sonam completed her remark, the camera panned across to her father, Anil Kapoor, who appeared to be rather stunned by the kind of comment that his daughter made about herself. On the other hand, Karan Johar broke into a peal of laughter hearing Sonam’s revelation and said:
“She just called herself an icon!”
Well, the video featuring a striking response by Sonam Kapoor went viral in no time, and eagle-eyed netizens couldn’t stop themselves from expressing their opinions on the same. Taking to the comments section of the post, a major segment of the internet users mocked Sonam for the statement and tagged her as delusional. Others took a dig at the actress’ apparent luxurious lifestyle and mocked how such things make it easier for her to proclaim herself as an icon.
