Indian singer, Sonu Nigam is known for his marvellous singing skills. He has landed his melodious voice in every hit film. Over the years, the magic of his voice has increased. His millions of fan following waits to hear his latest songs. Recently, the singer was awarded with India's fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri, and it was his wife, Madhurima Nigam, who cheered the loudest for him.
For the unversed, Sonu Nigam is called the 'Lord of Chords' and he has lent his voice to over 4000 songs in more than 10 languages. The singer was among 35 personalities who were conferred with the highly prestigious award under the arts category in 2022. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah were also present at the ceremony.

A while ago, we stumbled upon a video from the prestigious award ceremony. The 48-year-old, Sonu was dressed in a white asymmetrical kurta and pyjama. He looked the happiest as he received the Padma Shri honour. However, it was his wife, Madhurima, who cheered for her hubby, and was looking the happiest. Check it out:
On receiving the award, Sonu Nigam remembered his parents, Shobha Nigam and Agam Kumar Nigam. However, he dedicated the award to his late mother, Shobha Nigam and shared that if she would have been here, she would be the happiest. He said:
"I'm thankful to the Government of India for thinking of me as a deserving candidate and bestowing me the Padma Shri. My heartfelt thanks to all those who selected me and suggested my name for this prestigious honour. I would also like to thank my mother, Shobha Nigam, and my father, Agam Kumar Nigam. In fact, I want to dedicate this award to my mother. Had she been here today, she would have cried a lot,"
