Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, known as Rajinikanth was born into a Marathi family in Karnataka. Rajinikanth was interested in acting since childhood as he participated in many plays during his schooling. When he was working in Bangalore Transport Service (BTS), Rajinikanth decided to take up an acting course in the Madras Film Institute. It was during his stay in the institute, he was noticed by Tamil director, K. Balachandran, who had advised him to learn Tamil and it changed his life for the best. After making his debut in Apoorva Raagangal, Rajinikanth had played the role of a crime boss in the movie, Baasha, which had earned him a ‘God-like’ status in Tamil Nadu. On December 3, 2020, Rajinikanth had revealed that he would be making an official announcement about the launch of his political party on December 31, 2020 and since then, his fans are eagerly waiting for the same.
On December 12, 2020, Rajinikanth turned 70 and his birthday was marked by celebrations across the nation as his fans gathered outside his house to get a glimpse of their ‘Thalaivar’. With birthday hashtags on social media, food distribution and other charitable works, the actor’s birthday was not less than any festival. On the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday, his daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth wished her appa and shared a glimpse of his birthday cake. She took to her IG handle and shared a picture of her daddy cutting his birthday cake which had the message ‘Now or Never’, that has become one of the taglines of his political plunge. Along with the picture, Soundarya wrote, “Happy birthday my life... dearest appa. #NowOrNever #ThalaivarBirthday #OneAndOnly.”
Soundarya shares a very warm bond with her father, Rajinikanth. In an interview with The Times Of India, Soundarya had shared her experience of directing her father in the movie, Kochadaiiyaan. She had opened up on the same and had stated, “I used to watch films in all languages, but was always a Rajinikanth fan. So, first and foremost, it was such a blessing directing him in my first film. I would say 'action' but even when the scene was over, I would not say 'cut' as I just wanted to continue seeing him perform. I would see rushes and start clapping in my room. It was awkward for him, with me as the director. My mom once asked me what I was shooting and I said, 'I am shooting a romantic scene with appa.' It was cute but awkward. I am extremely possessive and protective of him." (Also Read: Hardik Pandya Shares A Super Cute Picture With Natasa Stankovic And Their Pooches)

To all those hearts who prayed and continue to pray for my father and my family, thank you. #Grateful #Forever #GodIsGreat".
