Soundarya Rajinikanth Shares An Emotional Video Of Her Father, Rajinikanth From Eight Years Ago

For a father, his daughter is always the princess, no matter how old she gets. Her demands are his commands, no matter how childish it may seem. Soundarya is the youngest daughter of Rajinikanth and the naughtiest amongst all. She chose to listen to her heart and opted for directing over acting. And while her emotional anchor is her mother, it is her father, who still holds the title of the hero in her life. After all, he gave her the biggest lesson of staying humble no matter what. Even after her first marriage ended on a bitter note, her father, Rajinikanth stood like a rock and became the pillar of her strength.

On July 13, 2019, Soundarya took to her Instagram handle and shared a throwback video of her father returning from Singapore to Chennai after curing his illness and it is the massive welcome he had received that wins our heart. She captioned it as, "A day we will forever remember, the day we returned with Appa to Chennai after his medical treatment in Singapore #13.7.11 8 years ago. You are truly gods child Appa. To all those hearts who prayed and continue to pray for my father and my family, thank you. #Grateful #Forever #GodIsGreat". Take a look at the video below:

Coming back to Soundarya and her father, Rajinikanth's relationship, in an interview, she had talked about her childhood days. She had shared, "We had a great childhood, even though my father was a really busy man shooting three shifts. My mother made sure we did not miss not having our father around and did not miss doing what children do at a particular age, for instance, going to Disneyland or Universal Studios. My mother came from an upper-middle-class Brahmin Iyengar family, while my father is a Maharashtrian, born and brought up in Karnataka. He had lost his mother when he was six and his father, after my elder sister was born." She had further added, "My maternal grandparents gave us a normal upbringing not allowing us to ever think we were born with a silver spoon, though we were spoilt with too much love and got away with tantrums. Also, being our father's children, if we are not humble, we are idiots. He will probably talk to the driver of the biggest man the same way he treats the big man himself. My dad is my hero. Even if it sounds cliched, I am his biggest fan."

For those who don't know, Soundarya is the first daughter, who directed her father, Rajinikanth in a movie. She had opened up about her experience, and had stated, "I used to watch films in all languages, but was always a Rajinikanth fan. So, first and foremost, it was such a blessing directing him in my first film. I would say 'action' but even when the scene was over, I would not say 'cut' as I just wanted to continue seeing him perform. I would see rushes and start clapping in my room. It was awkward for him, with me as the director. My mom once asked me what I was shooting and I said, 'I am shooting a romantic scene with appa.' It was cute but awkward. I am extremely possessive and protective of him."

She had further added, "I wanted him to take breaks and have his meals on time. The daughter in me came out at times like that, the fan in me came out when I enjoyed his performance and the director in me came out when I had to finish the schedule of the day. I was aware and conscious of his health. He is perfectly fine today by God's grace and all the prayers. But when we were shooting, he had just come out of his illness, so it was too much on him. I am aware of the responsibility of directing him, as his fans want to see him as he is, I being one, too."
