Words are less to define the superstar and legendary actress, Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan a.k.a. Sridevi Kapoor. Padma Shri awardee, first female superstar, veteran actress and whatnot, Sridevi truly deserved all the reverence given by her family, friends from the industry and netizens. Apart from being a successful actress, Sridevi was the backbone of her family as well.
It rarely happens in Bollywood that a couple gets to live their fairy tale love story, and Boney Kapoor and Sridevi were one such lucky couple. After fighting all the odds, their love for each other finally won and, Sridevi and Boney tied the nuptial knot on June 2, 1996. The couple were blessed with two lovely daughters, Janhvi Kapoor (born in 1997) and Khushi Kapoor (born in 2000). She was the ultimate diva, and following her path, Sridevi’s daughters too turned up to be fashionistas. Let’s have a look at Sridevi’s family moments which will give a glimpse of how perfect she was, as a lady, as a wife and as a mother.
Sridevi has not only contributed her 50-years-of-life to Hindi cinema but her career boasts an extensive filmography in different languages. She started off her career at the age of 4 and continued doing what she loves the most, till her last breath. Her comic abilities, dancing skills, fashion aptitude made her one of the most inspirational and beloved actresses of the industry. Who else would have done Sadma, Lamhe, Chandni, Mr India, Himmatwala, Chaalbaaz, English Vinglish, Mom and all her movies better than her? We cannot imagine the industry without Bollywood’s Hawa Hawai!
Sridevi, in an earlier interview, expressed what made her fall in love with Boney Kapoor. She said, "I fell in love with him when I got to know the real him. It was difficult, traumatic even and it took me many years to finally accept the fact that I was destined to be with Boney. In hindsight, I only wish that I had realised and accepted his love for me sooner. I always believe in following my heart and I am glad that I did. My parents had passed away by then and my sister was shocked with my decision. But now, she shares a great relationship with my husband and is convinced that he is the best thing that ever happened to me!" Even her husband was so much in love with her, he was quoted as saying in an interview, “If I was Shah Jahan I would have built her a Taj Mahal. If I were a painter, I would have made her a beautiful painting. But, I make movies. Hence, I don't know a better way than the gift of films for her.”

Sridevi’s elder daughter, Janhvi will make her Bollywood debut with the film, Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. And just like any mother, Sridevi was also excited to see her daughter on 70mm screens, growing well in her career and making name for herself. But, alas! According to an interview, Sridevi’s advice for Janhvi for her debut was, “Like any other mother, whether they come to this profession or not you just ask them to do the right things. To work hard and give their best, hard work always pays, so I tell them all these kinds of things.”

About the comparison and competition that Janhvi will have to face in the industry, Sridevi stated, “We can't run away from that. She has to face the pressure. When she has decided to enter Bollywood, she has to go through all this. She's prepared for all that, and I am also preparing myself for it. Sometimes, it scares me. So many thoughts come and you feel why is she doing this? But then, if you feel that is her aim and happiness, as a mother, I will support her like my mom supported me. We weren't from a film background, but it happened, and she stood by me, fought for me and made sure I am happy. That's how I would also like to be with Janhvi."
Sridevi captioned the about picture as, "Happy birthday khushiloooooo, love you, you're my life, my breath, my happiness, my strength, have the best day"
As it is said that the daughters are their mother’s parchaayi, it is true in the case of Sridevi. Janhvi and Khushi, both are, as glamorous as, their mother. Once in an interview. Sridevi adorably talked about her daughters and was quoted as saying, "Jhanvi, I feel is more like me - absolutely obedient. Both my children are extremely attached to us. Jhanvi seeks more attention from me while Khushi can manage things on her own. Though Jhanvi's grown up now, sometimes I still have to feed her. She won't eat properly at certain times, so I have to make sure that she eats properly. Sometimes she tells me to put her to sleep so all these nakhras she does. Khushi has always been a very independent person right since childhood."
