Since the pandemic, Korean dramas have taken over the world. Among the most popular K-dramas, the 2017 thriller romcom, Strong Girl Bong Soon is one of the loved ones. It received so much praise from the audience that it has now gotten a spin-off, Strong Girl Nam Soon. The said drama is enjoying a satisfactory run with an overall positive rating.
The storyline of the drama revolves around the titular character of Strong Girl Nam Soon, played by actress, Lee You Mi. 'Nam Soon' possesses indomitable strength, a trait that is unique to the women in her family. She was lost as a child in Mongolia, but now she has returned to South Korea with the hope of finding her parents. However, she soon realizes that things are not as she had imagined.

The lead actress, Lee You Mi, recently did an interview with the media outlet, Hindustan Times, where she opened up about her love for India and its films, songs, dances and curry. She mentioned:
“I think the works with India’s dance and songs were already so much loved in Korea. As both Korea and India have ‘fun (in Korean, Heung)’ in common, I guess I feel close to India.
The 29-year-old actress, Lee You Mi was asked by the interviewer whether she had seen any Indian films or tasted Indian food. She promptly answered that she liked Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots. She said:
“I enjoyed the movie 3 Idiots and liked it. It was an amusing movie and left an impression. Even though I haven’t been to India yet, the Indian curry was so delicious. I enjoy eating it and am very curious about how it tastes when eating locally.”

Lee You Mi also opened up about how the immense popularity of Korean dramas has given the actors a plethora of opportunities to try their skills. While talking to the interviewer, she mentioned as K-dramas are getting attention from around the world, actors are receiving chances to prove themselves across various genres. She said:
“I reckon that it is a really exciting time for an actor. Korean dramas are getting attention worldwide which has led to more opportunities in terms of acting, and characters across various genres and created a thriving environment, which is pleasant to be part of.”

Lee You Mi made history as the first South Korean actress to win the Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress, for her role in the thriller K-drama, Squid Game in 2022. She was further asked about this win and how her year has been till now. Yoo Mi said:
“I’ve been shooting JTBC’s Strong Girl Nam-soon as well as Netflix’s Mr. Plankton, thanks to those, I’m having another happy year while growing every day.”
Further, in the interview, Lee You Mi was asked if she felt nervous and pressured while portraying ‘Nam Soon’ as her predecessor ‘Bong Soon’ played by Park Bo Young received much love from the audience. She revealed:
“Since Strong Girl Bong-Soon received a lot of love and was a great piece, I enjoyed it too. I was nervous, under the pressure that I too should be able to pull it off and carry the good series forward. On the other hand, also curious and anticipated the acting involving fantasy elements.”
For the unversed, Lee You Mi has been a part of some of the most renowned K-dramas of contemporary times. She was in Squid Game, All Of Us Are Dead and now in Strong Girl Nam Soon. The interviewer asked her what kind of roles she now prefers doing, she said:
“I would like to play a character that represents another challenge that I haven’t experienced before. There are so many roles that I haven’t done and so many things that I want to do that it’s hard to pick one right now.”
