Suchitra Krishnamoorthi rose to fame with the 1994 romantic flick, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. Despite a successful debut in Bollywood, Suchitra left acting to become a housewife. For the unversed, Suchitra tied the knot with ace filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur in 1997. However, despite falling head-over-heels in love with each other, the duo got divorced in 2006.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Thikana, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi talked about her divorce from Shekhar Kapur and how it affected their daughter, Kaveri Kapur. Speaking about the same, Suchitra stated that Kaveri was badly affected and stated:
“Every parent does the best they can. Every child has trauma, especially children in broken homes of public figures. Imagine that child being told by others, ‘Maine ye suna, maine ye padhaa, kya aisa hai’ and children aren’t equipped to deal with this. They are very sensitive. They are trying to balance their affection between their parents, so it’s a very tricky situation for them."

In the same interview, Suchitra also shared she and Shekhar are co-parenting their daughter, and he is a tremendous father to her. In her words:
“We are still parenting our child together. We are parents to a daughter and that relationship will always be there. I even tell him that he is a very good and committed father. My daughter is closer to him than she is to me."
Suchitra Krishnamoorthi began her acting journey with the television series, Chunauti, when she was just 12 years old. After which, she worked as a model during the nineties and made her acting debut in the Hindi film industry with the iconic film, Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa, opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Deepak Tijori. Suchitra was a teenager when she got married to Shekhar.

After a few years of marriage, cracks started appearing in Suchitra and Shekhar’s life and Suchitra ha once blamed actress, Preity Zinta for the same. For the unversed, Preity Zinta had given the first audition of her life to Shekhar Kapur, and he was the one, who recommended her name to Mani Ratnam for her debut film, Dil Se. However, as per Suchitra, Shekhar and Preity were more than just good friends; and their affair disturbed her married life with Shekhar. However, Preity denied the allegations and stated that Suchitra wasn’t mentally well.
After taking a break from acting, Suchitra made her comeback in the year 2019 with the film, Romeo Akbar Walter.
