An accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and a popular actress, Sudha Chandran is a very well-known name in the world of glamour and entertainment. Sudha is known for her stellar performances as Ramola Sikand in Kaahin Kissii Roz, Yamini in Naagin, Gayathri Kaul in K. Street Pali Hill and many more. Sudha Chandran is the perfect example of courage, patience and resilience as she turned the tragedy of her life into her greatest success.
In 1981, when she was just 16 years old, Sudha had met with an accident, where her legs were badly wounded. Her right leg was amputated after the formation of gangrene. Sudha regained her mobility with the help of a prosthetic Jaipur foot. She had returned to dancing after a gap of two years and is counted amongst one of the finest actresses of Indian cinema.

On October 21, 2021, Sudha Chandran took to her IG handle and shared a video, requesting PM Modi to issue her a senior citizen card, after she was asked to remove her artificial limb at the security check. In the video, recorded from the front camera, Sudha talked about being grilled and humiliated at the airport each and every time she travels and how it 'hurts' her.
Sudha introduced herself as an actor and dancer, who had made her nation proud by performing with an artificial limb. Sudha also revealed that she often requests the CISF officials to do an ETD (Explosive Trace Detector) but they always ask her to remove the limb. Sudha captioned the video as "Totally hurt… each time going thru this grill is very very hurting... hope my message reaches the state Nd central govt authorities... and expecting a prompt action."

Sudha Chandran had begun dancing at the age of 3. Her love for dancing was so much that even after her right leg got amputated, the stunning actress didn't stop dancing and was back on the stage. However, one stellar performance of Sudha had changed her life forever as she was cast in a movie named Mayuri, based on her real-life tragedy. Sudha's performance in Mayuri brought her lot of accolades and she was awarded a National Film Award-Special Jury Award.
Sudha had excelled in acting and started getting many offers too. Slowly, she had forayed into the Tamil movies and the television industry.
