In the same interview, Suniel Shetty admitted that after knowing that his daughter, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul were on talking terms, he was so much happy, and the reason behind it was the fulfilment of his wish to have a South Indian son-in-law. The doting father admitted that he had told his daughter quite early to bond with South Indian boys, and knowing that KL Rahul is from Mangalore made him super-happy. Opening up about the same, he said:
"I was surprised that Athiya had not mentioned it to me. [At the same time], I was happy as I always told Athiya to connect with south Indian boys. Rahul’s house in Mangalore [where his parents live] is only a few kilometres away from my birthplace [Mulki]. So, this was a happy coincidence."
On the professional front, Suniel Shetty reportedly kick-started shooting his much-awaited film, Hera Pheri 3, alongside Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and others.
