Sunny Deol has been flourishing high on his career front recently, post the massive success of his comeback film, Gadar 2 after 22 years. The actor swooned audiences effortlessly with his power-packed performance and acting prowess. Amidst all the good wishes and appreciation, a viral clip of the actor had created a stir on the internet recently that featured Sunny roaming around in Juhu circle completely drunk. While the actor’s team immediately responded that the clip was actually a part of a film shoot that was taking place, it nevertheless led Sunny to be prone to criticism. And now, he addressed the matter.
In a recent interaction with Zoom, Sunny Deol talked about his recent viral clip on the internet, wherein he could be seen roaming aimlessly on the busy streets of Mumbai’s Juhu circle while being drunk. Responding to all the criticisms and queries he received, the actor once again clarified that it was a part of a film shoot and not something real, and thus, everyone needs to relax. Moreover, he mentioned that he doesn’t drink in real life, and even if he did, he is not a person who would consume alcohol openly on the streets. In his words:

“It is a video recording of a shoot, not a real video, so everyone should just relax. If I want to drink, would I do it on the road and in an auto rickshaw? The truth is, I don’t drink. And, that’s not a real video but a film shooting.”

Earlier, in an interview with Mashable India, Sunny Deol had claimed that he does not consume alcohol in his life. The actor confessed that he tried having it once early on in his life when he was in England but ended up hating its taste and smell. He had mentioned:
“Ye nahi ki maine try nahi kiya. Jab main England gaya tha to maine try kia tha to be part of the society but daaru ka mujhe samajh hi nahi aaya ki itni kadvi, upar se smell itni gandi hai, upar se sar dukhta hai, toh kyun peete hain? Ye koi matab nahi hai, isiliye I never did that.”
Sunny Deol is a man known for his candid confessions. The actor has always been quite open about his life and work, and he never shies away from putting forth his opinion on things. For instance, in one of his previous interactions with Bombay Times, the actor revealed that he suffers from dyslexia and thus faces difficulty in reading his scripts. Moreover, he added that he gets his dialogues written in Hindi and takes a lot of time to read and go through them.

In a previous interaction with Curly Tales, Sunny Deol reminisced about his growing-up years in the villages of Punjab. He revealed that during his long stay there, he learnt a lot of things, including various techniques of swimming. Summing it up as the most beautiful phase, Sunny said:
“I spent many years living in Punjab. Until 1980, I used to stay there for around 3-4 months each year. We lived in a village, and I learned a lot of things there. I learned how to swim there. I used to jump from the bridge into the pond and float to the shore. I have fond memories of going to the fields with my uncles early in the morning on a bullock cart. All of it was very beautiful.”
