Bollywood actress, Sujata Mehta first time talked about Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia's love story in the '90s. Sujata, who had worked with them in the 1993 film, Gunaah, shared how they had a lovely chemistry together. She also claimed that Sunny and Dimple were destined to be together. For those who don't know, back in the time, there were huge claims of Dimple and Sunny being head-over-heels in love with each other.
In an interview with Sidharth Kannan, Sujata Mehta, who had worked with Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia in back-to-back two films, talked about witnessing their bond. She shared that they had lovely chemistry, and they were extremely close. Sujata also shared that they never hid anything, as they were working together. Sujata also added that Sunny and Dimple were destined to be together. She said:

"I did Gunaah with them. They had a lovely chemistry, and both of them were close to me. There was nothing to hide since we were working together. In our profession, I feel everything is very professional. Sab log apna kaam karte hai, nikalte hai. Gunaah ke set pe jab bhi hum log shoot pe gaye, they had a lovely chemistry on-screen and off-screen. They were destined to be together."
It was in the late 1980s when Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia's love story began. Sunny and Dimple were riding high on the ladder of success and had come together for a film, Manzil Manzil, in 1984. Soon, they found solace in each other's company. However, Tinseltown was abuzz with the murmurs of their romance, but Sunny and Dimple never spoke about it.
But the entire nation was left in shock when Dimple Kapadia parted ways from Rajesh Khanna during the same time. Later, it was Sunny's ex-girlfriend, Amrita Singh, who had confirmed that he was in love with Dimple Kapadia. In a media interaction, Amrita shared that Dimple is having 'her cake and eating it too.' She further said:
"I think she's having her cake and eating it too. She's got nothing to lose and most importantly, she's got her guy where she wants him. So what if it's not heading anywhere? When you've already lived a life, you are happy with a relationship that's at status quo."
It is reported that Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia dated for eleven long years, until the buzz of their romance faded. But years later, in 2017, a rare picture of the once-madly-in-love couple made its way to the internet. In the pictures, Sunny and Dimple were holding each other's hands tightly as they sat close to each other.
