Sunny Deol is one of the most incomparable actors of his generation. The superstar has lived upto his father, Dharmendra’s legacy and has been able to carve out his own niche in the craft of films. He is known for his iconic heroic portrayals and spine-chilling dialogues, which make each of his portrayed characters a memorable asset even today. Moreover, in his personal life, he is not just a dedicated family person, but also one of the most humble personalities, which simply charms everyone’s hearts. Apart from his film career, Sunny has also etched a place in the political arena and is an incumbent member of Parliament for the district of Gurdaspur in Punjab.
In a recent interview on Aaj Tak’s show, Seedhi Baat, Sunny Deol was asked to share his insights on the frequently called out cases of drug abuse, particularly in the Hindi film industry. Reacting to the same, Sunny defended such a stance and revealed that incidents of drug abuse does not concern with the industry from where it emerged, but from the people who are a part of it. Moreover, he also highlighted that people make it a big deal when it comes to Bollywood, since it gets too much of media coverage. In his words:

“Sada hua Bollywood nahi hai, sade hue insaan hai. Aur vo kis field me nahi hai, ye bataiye. Businessman ho, sportsman ho, jaha latt lagi hui hu, vo charo taraf hai. Hum glamour vale hai to unhe humare pe ungli uthane maza ata hai.”

In one of his earlier interviews with Deccan Chronicle, Sunny Deol had once reflected on his healthy fitness regime and lifestyle, and credited the reason behind it to his voluntary choice of abstaining from alcohol and drugs his entire life. In fact, he had even cited his reasons for the same and revealed that since he was the oldest among the family after his father, he had to turn up to be responsible. Sunny had said:
“I’ve abstained from alcohol, drugs and parties all my life. I religiously workout and follow a certain discipline. Probably, that has helped me feel and look healthy. Over the years I’ve realised that you cannot control everything. My father is the head of the family but being his eldest son I have to manage the family. I’ve been a big brother to my brother Bobby, cousin Abhay and a responsible father to my sons Karan and Rajveer.”
Apart from being a top-of-the-notch actor, Sunny Deol is a dedicated son to his mother, Prakash Kaur and a doting husband to his wife, Pooja Deol. However, unlike the male members of the Deol clan, the women of the family have always kept a low profile, and chose to stay away from the limelight. While this peculiar phenomenon has frequently been criticised as patriarchal in nature, Sunny, once opened up about the same. He revealed that neither him nor his father, Dharmendra have ever stopped their respective spouses from staying away from media glare, and added that it was their own conscious decision.

Recently, Sunny Deol became a proud dad as his son, Karan Deol tied the knot with his long-time ladylove, Drisha Acharya. The duo’s wedding was undoubtedly the buzz of the day, and was full of love and everything grand. It was later after the wedding, when Sunny made an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, where he said some sweet words about his daughter-in-law. Calling Drisha the daughter he always missed in his family, he mentioned:
“We didn't have a daughter in our family, and she came so I was overjoyed to welcome Karan's wife."
