And it is often that he narrates incidents and anecdotes pertaining to the same past time. And something similar happened yet again, as Sunny recalled a time when he used to carry arms and weapons in his car.
In a recent interaction with Mashable India, Sunny Deol opened up on a rather unheard anecdote from his life. The actor recalled his past and mentioned how during various tense socio-political times, especially during frequent gang wars in the city, that he used to carry arms in his car, such as swords and metal rods. In the same interaction, Sunny also spoke about a certain incident in the past, where he was provoked and bullied in a public place. The actor mentioned getting enraged and started to physically fight, as he couldn’t stand it. Revealing how he then had to hide about that entire incident from his father, Dharmendra, Sunny shared:
“I have had fights everywhere. At an India-New Zealand match at Brabourne Stadium, I was with my friends. Some people found out that I was Dharmendra’s son, and then they started ragging me. Then they started throwing cigarette butts at me. I lost my mind. I’m a Sardar, after all. I started swinging, and I had no idea who I was hitting, I just kept beating people up. We used to provoke strangers into racing us. That’s the life we’ve lived. And then I had to hide it from my parents, especially my father. My mother would handle these situations when they got out of hand.”
In his personal life, Sunny Deol is happily settled with his wife, Pooja Deol and his sons, Karan and Rajveer. While Karan recently got married to the love of his life, Drisha Acharya, Rajveer, on the other hand, made his debut with the film, Dono. In a previous interview with Lallantop, Sunny was asked about his take on the infamous matter of nepotism, that has been debated for a long time in Bollywood. To this, Sunny gave a sassy response and mentioned that it is natural for a father to look after the well-being and future of his son, and it cannot be wrong by any means.

For the unversed, apart from his successful film career, Sunny is an honoured Parliamentarian and is the elected MP for Gurdaspur in Punjab. However, Sunny often skips the meetings at the Parliament, and is seldom actively seen in politics. During his previous appearance in the show, Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny had opened up on the same and had said:
“My attendance is really low and I don’t say that this is a good thing but when I came into politics, I realised this is not my world. But I am working for my constituency and I will keep doing that. It doesn’t matter if I go to parliament or not, that doesn’t affect my work for my constituency. Also, I face problems when I go to the parliament. There is security and then there was Covid. As an actor wherever you go, people surround you. I have a list of the work I’ve done for my constituency, but I am not among those who promote their work. As for politics, yes it is a profession that I don’t fit in.”
