Kollywood's most famous couple is Suriya and Jyotika. The power couple decided to move to Mumbai after the COVID-19-induced pandemic. In a fresh new interview, Suriya opened up about how his wife Jyotika had given up on her career, friends, and Bandra lifestyle to shift to Chennai. He acknowledged that his wife had made tremendous sacrifices just for their relationship.
Suriya had agreed that when they shifted to Mumbai, a new change was observed in his family. The environment was relaxed and was suitable for his growing kids. Suriya felt that his kids did not have the pressure of being celeb kids and could enjoy a normal childhood. The actor took a chance to highlight the sacrifices made by his beloved Jyotika. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Suriya said:
“Jyotika shifted to Chennai when she was 18 or 19 and lived there for 27 years. She was with me, my family, and she gave up her career, friends, and her Bandra lifestyle."
Suriya added that when they shifted to Mumbai, it helped Jyotika with her comeback as an actress. At a tender age, Jyotika decided to move to Chennai and gave up on her modern lifestyle to be with Suriya's family. However, after the pandemic, Jyotika's career could not see a boost. She wanted a new start for her career, as the acting roles she was getting needed to be more meaty and meaningful. Jyotika believed in doing varied films, which was why she and Suriya created 2D Entertainment, which focused on producing more women-centric movies.
Suriya agreed that he likes to work with known directors. However, his wife, Jyotika, is a bit different. She believes in working with freshers, and since their relocation, the actress has worked in many movies. From Shaitaan , Srikanth , Dabba Cart l and Kaathal: The Core , Jyotika has proved her versatility. Her films have had engaging content and diverse storytelling.
Ghajini star Suriya, had agreed that relocating him and Jyotika to Mumbai would benefit them professionally and personally. He revealed that Jyotika could reconnect with her parents in Mumbai. Suriya also highlighted the importance of women's friendships, financial freedom, vacations, fitness regimes and self-respect. Suriya does not believe in having a self-centred mind and is happy seeing his wife flourish. He added:

“It's important to shift our mindset from 'I, me, and myself.' I'm glad to see her growth as an actress, and I hope she finds even more beautiful opportunities."
Suriya also emphasized that Mumbai has allowed him to enjoy quality time with his kids. He likes to take part in joyful activities like walking in the park and going for a drive. Suriya also revealed that his kids are doing great in their IB schools, but such schools are not in Chennai.
Suriya and Jyotika are an ideal pair, and they have love and respect for each other. What do you feel?
