Earlier this year in January, Hate Story 2 girl, Surveen Chawla created a stir among the media by breaking the news of her marriage which took place 2 years ago in Italy, with her long time beau, Akshay Thakker. The reason for sharing the news 2 years later was because she wanted to prove to the world that marriage doesn’t bring an end to your career, but in some cases, it proves as a stepping stone to forge ahead. While many actresses’ career had taken a backseat after settling down, Surveen has proved that getting married can never affect a women’s professionalism or appeal, unless she herself wants to take a break from work. Talking about why Surveen chose to keep her marriage a secret from the world outside, she shared in an interview with TOI that, “Well, I wanted to break the myth and I wanted to take time to be prepared about saying it. Being a part of this (entertainment) industry, we are conditioned in a certain way. Now you guys tell me, in two years when you people have seen me, have you found any difference?" Surveen is known to break all stereotypes in the industry and is extremely comfortable in portraying bold characters. She shared with the same publication that although she was ‘reluctant’ to get married in the beginning, she has found a best friend in her husband. She shares, “I could kiss my co-actor or even go nude on screen, I can do whatever the script demands in a film and my husband will not say anything about it. That’s the kind of understanding I have with him. When I have this kind of comfort level with him, why would I wait to get married? My husband is supportive of my work and I got a companion for life, what more can a woman ask for?” We agree!
The Parched actress also shared that whenever she gets a good project, it is Akshay who says “‘Go for it”. Well, if you get such a supportive husband, what more can one ask more! It is now truly understood that who is the driving force behind Surveen’s success. (Also Read: Ex-Bigg Boss Contestant Sapna Choudhary's 'Bhai' Gets Married; Arshi, Akash, Mehjabi At Celebrations)
